Wonderful experience at @ASH_hematology with my co-fellows and UCLA faculty @UCLAHealthJCCC! Appreciate the free registration for trainees and all the educational sessions they had. We had a lovely UCLA gathering too. Highly recommend fellows to attend for learning! 🩸❣️

An incredible case to facilitate & a reminder that the journey is more valuable than the diagnosis. I was proud of our approach to new topics: isolated low platelets, GGOs, progressing metastatic dz. I gained a new dx which will be important for me in onc! See @JTVuongMD pub ⬇️.

@AMinalyan @grepmeded @LizzyHastie I had a Q about the frequency of redoing the MRSA nares (i.e. was neg 2 weeks ago, worth it to redo?) and found the clinical status change point helpful. You are more likely to go from neg->pos inpatient and it is worth re-testing if someone worsens!

@AMinalyan @grepmeded @LizzyHastie Totally agree! One point we discussed is that UTIs are so unlikely to be Staph already, that the added NPV of MRSA nares feels minimal. But it is a relatively easy/non-invasive test, so why not confirm!
