@DrPhilipVerhoef Depends on your goals and if you even know your goals. The early career nonclinical time and exposure to different aspects of medicine and leadership made it worthwhile for me. But thank heaven for moonlighting and my co-chiefs

@Gabby_Brauner27 Other than generally “in academic medicine doing a combination of clinical care, teaching, and research” not the same (or any) subspecialty and in unexpected leadership positions. I never ask this question in interviews!
