I keep getting hints that private nation states are way ahead of the public commercial quantum computers. Raytheon and In-Q-Tel keep popping up. Also, you only need about 2,000 logical qubits to efficiently run Shor's over 256-bit ECC. To be clear, Shor's can turn a public key into a private key, which can then be used to forge transactions. That's why BIPs like P2QRH are so important. Bitcoin must update its security in order to survive.
