@Hylo67 This is a fantastic thread on agriculture exploitation.
Is it possible to farm without exploitation? I've spent a decade working all over ag looking for the answer to that question. The world is littered with evidence that it is not possible. I've found one "Yes," in all my obsession searching. And I'm betting career on it. THREAD

@FarmerSimonC @DouglasChristi9 What I have also seen is clover disappearing out of grass swards, as far as I know there is a term on it, when the clover plant considers to have done it job and steps back for a few years, assume its just dormant. I have seen my swards of 20% clover drop to 5% at a guess

@FarmerSimonC @DouglasChristi9 Very similar to what I’m observing on grassland soils, required N level is increasing due to high C levels. Surprised you don’t get a response to Sulphur, maybe you high Mg soils? are very efficient N users

@agriculture_ie That’s funny, as I and most others farming, got emails from the DAFM at 14.20 on Friday, just after the storm passing over. Maybe looking at your own practices might be the first port of call.

@MarkMcC64572225 Couple locals not fully compliant with recent regulations, so are just going to milk on until they meet their fate from a Regs POV instead of investing to stay compliant
