Why not have a much bigger pool of referees. There are some really good refs in the championship that deserve a chance. If a ref is consistently not performing well they can be stood down for a period and others can come in. Competition for places works for other teams in sports
Truth is our officials aren’t good enough. Coaching is poor. VAR is poor. On-field is poor. Trying to shut the debate down isn’t the answer. Accepting mistakes are made and getting better is. Why don’t we go out & sign the best refs in the world to officiate in the best league?

@sometimesong To be fair, Mike Dean said live on Sky yesterday that it should have been a yellow card and if Arsenal appeal the ex pros on the panel would not see it as a red and it would be over turned.

@gooner145 PGMOL should release the audio of the conversation between VAR and the ref today so we can hear it. Not in three or four days' time when people will be able to question the authenticity of what they release.

@henrywinter @danielwilks10 Refs can and do make wrong decisions. However, there have been quite a few decisions that have been debatable by Michael Oliver that have been against Arsenal over the last few seasons. What is affecting his decision-making?

@avfc_stef And so it begins, people trying to justify a horrendous decision despite what the journos, ex pros, ex managers and ex refs think.
