There's a lot of information on how to play openings, but less on which openings you should play and why. So without further ado... Every Opening and Why You Should Play It (I'll be adding to this, so bookmark if you want to come back to it)

This dress code creates embarrassment every year. It's stupid, get rid of it. FIDE is not in much of a position to talk about professionalism. From the website to broadcast issues to, yes, letting the most popular player in the world walk for wearing jeans, they consistently come off as unprofessional. Magnus is a difficult personality. So are many of the most talented people in the world. But you won't see Lebron James barred from the game because he showed up to the arena in jeans. The NBA is too big of a business for that. I do think we'll see more outbursts from Magnus if/when it becomes clear he is no longer the best player in the world. I don't think that's happened yet, but at some point it's inevitable. Nobody, no matter how talented, can stay on top without hard work and discipline. And age is working against him as well. He seems to have made his peace with not holding the World Championship title, but I'm not sure if the same can be said about not being the best player in the world. Of course, a fight with FIDE was probably not unwelcome from Magnus' side. I expect the efforts from other organizations to cut into FIDE's slice of the pie to ramp up, up to and including world championships.

If you're someone who plays mostly online and getting ready for an OTB tournament, consider switching to ChessCom's "real 3d" theme a week or two before the tournament. Getting used to seeing the pieces in 3d is a big deal.

@elizspiegel @GMJacobAagaard Woodpecker 2 is out on Chessable now. Not every book should be a Chessable course imo, but this one is a great fit for the platform. I feel your pain on the shipping though.

@IsaVulpes Yeah, I tried it and it was nice. I usually walk around a lot on my opponent's turn though.

@stevemagness I tried to adapt @BStulberg 's minimalist strength workout to be more specific to my favorite sport, Ultimate Frisbee. Pull-ups Push-ups Rear foot elevated split squat SLDL Kettlebell swings 3 sets of 6-12 reps, 3 days a week. What do you think?

@fins0905 Yeah, it's rare to see someone get run over without a fight in a World Championship match. The position was tricky, but he didn't manage to put up any resistance.
