September not great month. Finished -1.88%. Currently 21% drawdown over last few months, puts me flat on the year.
Mostly due to overtrading. Often find myself in good winners, but guilty of style drift & poor selection overall, which means they outweigh my bigger winners.

Any idiot can make money in a bull market, and I include myself in that. I started trading in 2020, 3x’d my account and gave it all back. The more I’ve studied the more I’ve realised the greatest skill is knowing when NOT to trade. This separates the amateurs and the pro’s.

Happy to finish green this week. I’m a new trader so this is my first correction, gave some back last couple of weeks but adapted well this week. Focused on cutting losses early, taking partial profits quicker and focusing on relative strength stocks and hot sectors.

So tempted to buy the dip here but won’t going in to the weekend. So many stocks down 30/40/50% from highs. Even if you’re 10% ‘late’ from the bottom, still ample upside even just to recent highs. Me personally, I’d rather wait and have more confirmation.

This is the part I usually mess up. Equity curve at highs, big profit run over last few months. Then continue to trade aggressively. Let pullback play out. Don’t give back all recent gains because you can’t be patient. Keep note of relative strength and wait for good R/R spots.

Carbs are satiating though. Potatoes, oats, apples and oranges are all in the top 5 of the satiety index. Comparing low calorie density carb sources high in fibre and water is not the same as high calorie density carb AND FAT sources with no fibre. That’s stupid.

Patience. Another easier money environment will come. Just got to be patient enough to wait for it. Drawdowns are the enemy of compounding. Wait until the odds are in your favour and you've got the market at your back.
You’ll hear a lot of the legendary traders say how you normally get 2-3 good periods a year, and then the rest of the time the market is consolidating. Can see that here. More consolidation before another leg?! Who knows. But always helps when you have the market at your back.

When the market enters a "non-fertile" period, I usually focus on buying Bio-related stocks and, in general, stocks that demonstrate inverse correlation with the indices.
$SMMT, $TVTX-2nd day, $TERN. Also tried $PLTR with smaller size. We'll see how these play out.
