is taking on one of the most predatory civil forfeiture schemes we have ever seen. Indiana is intercepting packages at a FedEx shipping hub, running K-9s over them, and forfeiting any cash found w/o saying a specific crime that was violated.
Seems crazy that California is about to shutdown a nuclear power plant that supplies 15% of the state's non-carbon energy, even as its phase-out of fossil fuel plants (+ too slow build-out of renewables) is poised to cause electricity shortages
If I sold a product called "100% Milk" but in small print on the back the product disclosed it's only 20% milk - would that be OK? What if the CEO repeatedly says by the time I get home, it will be 100% milk - but it isn't?

This stuck out: "Nearly a third of used Teslas for sale in August were 2022 models up for resale, a sign that original buyers were aiming to flip, analysts said. That compares with about 5% of other brands on the used market, research firm Edmunds said."
So ... Schumer's rebuke to Manchin will be to force vulnerable Dem Senators to vote on massive legislation even though BBB won't pass - at least not anything like its current form?
SCHUMER, throwing some shade at Manchin, says the Senate will still vote on BBB early next year “so that every Member of this body has the opportunity to make their position known on the Senate floor, not just on television.”
It's a big, much-anticipated milestone for

Elon: "Tesla is an AI/robotics company."
Also Elon: I won't pursue actual AI/robotics products unless actual AI/robotics products at Tesla unless I'm given another massive compensation package.
If you invest in Tesla, your motives are pure, 100%. If you invest in other EV/AV companies (even if you also own $TSLA!), you are obviously biased against Tesla and lying.
Hey
@CNBC
... any plans to disclose that the star of your FSD Beta smear piece is a major investor in LIDAR companies that will be run out of business as FSD Beta continues to prove their products are worthless?
@elonmusk
Tesla began Semi deliveries, but there's been very little buzz. The lack of key specs, price tag, cost, weight, production plans, likely played a role, but in years past Tesla's fan base would have gone wild. Ofc, part of that reflects Elon Musk quickly pivoting to Hunter Biden.

We have to solve a huge part of AI just to make cars drive themselves.
In retrospect, it was inevitable. The road system is designed for cameras (eyes) & neural nets (brains).
Don't be fooled by Friday's final-hour rebound. The correction is getting worse. A confirmed uptrend was wiped in days as the major indexes suffered another week of big losses. Cash is still king. (1/4) $CVX $LLY $WWE $ZIM $TSLA

@PBRStreetGang7
It's ridiculous. Tesla pushed prices as high as it could for as long as it could. It kept R&D very low, didn't roll out new EVs, ramp up service centers, etc. - all to maximize short-term profits. That let Musk extract value like a private equity parody via mass share sales.
The China EV price war is on. Tesla just slashed all its Model 3/Y prices in China, The base M3 price is now 229,900 yuan ($33,454), only about $600 more than the

Last weekend our daughter graduated from UCSB. So proud of her as she's grown into a young woman. Seen here with our son, who graduated college a year earlier.
Great point,
@elonmusk
! Say someone tells you something that isn't true, and then repeats that statement every few months for several years - if you're tempted to give that person, say, $10,000 - perhaps you should go back to first principles and reboot your software.
@micsolana
The overarching problem is that we need better mental firewalls for the information constantly coming at us.
Critical & first principles thinking should be a required course in middle school.
Who wrote the software running in your head? Are you sure you actually want it there?
Here’s the clip. Tucker says his show is open minded — “we literally do UFO segments” — but Sidney Powell has produced no evidence of malicious software vote-switching and others in Trump campaign say they haven’t seen any evidence from her either.

Elon Musk is a master at *not quite* lying but giving people 100% the wrong idea, whether it's about FSD or his Jan. comment that orders were double production. But that 2016 self-driving video. I don't see how that's anything but fraud.
Not teaching a hard subject because of disparities is both racist *and* lets schools off the hook, so you can see why this horrible idea is getting a lot of traction.
"Let's help poor Black kids by just not teaching anyone math" is the most fucking boneheaded idea I've ever heard. Those kids are behind in math because they get less parental help. And now you're going to give them less help at school, too? Fucking brain-dead!!!

It's crazy that Tesla can sell a product called Full Self-Driving, with Elon Musk constantly claiming Level 5 autonomy is *thisclose* ... and all of that's OK because the company says in legalese that "FSD" is not full self driving and will always be a Level 2 system.
I don't pretend to be an engineer like
@elonmusk

The last time someone questioned Musk directly - Parag Agrawal - he threw a takeover tantrum and agreed to buy Twitter for $44 billion. Who knows what Musk will do if he's grilled for hours.
I don't see how Tesla avoids a sales collapse in China by 2026. No new vehicles while everyone else is getting better, cheaper. A Model Y refresh probably won't do much if the Model 3 update is any indication.
I recommend watching this video review of the Xiaomi SU7 to better understand the competition in China. This particular review is pretty good.
The Xiaomi SU7 competes directly with the Model 3 and seems to have its own strengths.
The bar has been raised on cities. At the margins, they have to do *better* than pre-Covid to attract people because of the Zoom economy. (They are not doing better.)
More Breed: “San Francisco is a city that believes in the value of big ideas, but those ideas must be built on the foundation of a government that does the essentials well.”
If Breed can say this, the part about government needing to do essentials well could be said by Biden.
Nvidia has a forward P/E of 49 ratio, which isn't that high given its massive growth. Notably, that's *lower* than slower-growing rival $AMD, which has a forward P/E ratio of 54.
Tesla has a forward P/E of 76 - despite tumbling earnings.

Nvidia is the most expensive stock in the S&P 500 Index, with its shares trading for roughly 23 times the company’s projected sales over the next 12 months
The 200-day looms large for the S&P 500 - after the big Aug. rebuff. Moving decisively above this level would suggest the current uptrend is more than just a bear market rally. It also would offer a chance for new buys to actually work. (1/2)

New York oil "peaker" power plants fire up to keep the lights on as electricity demand approaches the daily maximum. 250 MW so far. By comparison, Indian Point nuclear plant was putting out 2,000 emissions-free MW round the clock—before "green" activists got it shut it down.
All I wanted for Christmas was 10,000 Twitter followers! Thanks everyone. My teenage daughter told me, "You're a micro-influencer." Not sure if that's a compliment or insult. Twitter this year has been a lot of fun in a tough year overall.
Pity the $TSLA analysts staying up late tonight to find a bullish spin on Tesla's Q1 results AND Elon Musk saying he's willing to drive profits to zero because full autonomy will save the day.
I know Tesla analysts are paid for fan fiction vs. research, but this is ridiculous. Clearly Q2 deliveries will take a major hit due to Shanghai shutdown/slow recovery.
Tesla delivery estimates were as follows on 10 May when I made this calculation:
• My estimate: 254K
• Analyst consensus: 308K
This calculation includes the April production number for Giga Shanghai which showed they were operating at 41% of capacity between 19-30 Apr.

My wife's niece got married this weekend in a beautiful ceremony - after numerous Covid-related delays. She was the flower girl in our wedding. Here is a picture from that wonderful day in 1999.
Over the weekend, it seemed like every CANSLIM/growth investor was tweeting about $BROS. I understand why various individuals were positive on Dutch Bros. but the chorus was a bit worrisome. I want to see growth stock breakouts/buy signals, not breakouts *by* growth investors.
OK. Here we go. The Tesla Model Y is only eligible for U.S. tax credits if the prices is no more than $55,000 - except for the virtually non-existent, head-crushing 7-seat versions. The current U.S. MY base price is $65.9K. $TSLA
This could be a *very* big deal. The $TSLA 2023 bull case is centered on U.S. tax credits fueling booming, high-margin domestic sales (offsetting meh-to-weak China/Europe). If the Model Y faces a $55K cap vs. $80K...
Potential red flag for Tesla Model Y: Ford Mach E listed here are having a price cap of $55k. Mach E is very close to the Model Y in size…
This would force Tesla to drop ASP by $11k to get the Model Y LR to qualify.
Not great if this is true.
Tesla tells regulators that FSD is/will always be Level 2, thus sidestepping testing/reporting rules, avoiding liability and fulfilling official capabilities to FSD owners. But many fans assume Tesla is lying and that FSD actually is/will be much better.
