My grandma speaks fluent hokkien. One day we went to Pekan Cina to buy sth. The tokey apek who was having a long convo with her in hokkien, stopped talking and stared at me. I looked back at him confused.
Him: hg tak paham cina ka?

Him: ni tok hg kata hg sekolah —
Pernah deal dgn seorang patient tua uncle Chinese ni. Dia fasih bertutur dalam Bahasa Mandarin dan Bahasa Melayu je. Aku ni Mandarin memang out la. Hanya tau English, BM dgn Bahasa Hokkien.
Last2 kami dua orang Cina bertutur dalam BM. Uncle tu siap kata “Janji dr faham sudah” 😂

From *Dogoi to Dogorina ❤️
Dogoi came to our house looking worse than the 1st pic. Didnt even look like a cat. Took to vet, sprayed some meds & she started shedding (pic 1). She now lives as a diva and I’m not even exaggerating.
*Dogoi means botak. Ayah named her.

I start bela smokey 2010, waktu tu dia jatuh longkang lepastu kaki injured😔🙏🏻lepastu bagi makan and biarkan dia dekat luar. tapi dia tak lari lari. syok pulak dia duduk rumah i makan ikan kembung hari hari.

My mum built her career from being a clerk to retiring as one of the top ppl in management with just SPM and made just as much as my dad who graduated with a masters degree. She’s still the most feminine and wife material woman I look up to.
That’s why I dare to fight anyone who says career women are horrible wives and mothers just because they’re career focused.
I was raised by one, who also juggles family life whilst building herself up.
And it paid her off many years later.
It paid us off too.

That’s a detangling brush. Usually the bristles are thinner and softer compared to normal a hair brush so it can get between knots and detangles without breaking too many hair strands. Some hair salons use this; the ones that don’t force kids to cut hair when it’s tangled lol

I dont have Chinese blood either. My grandma grew up having Chinese neighbours. She’s almost illiterate; only knows numbers & some jawi but she picked up hokkien from them and sounds like a native (or that’s what my Chinese friends said when they talked to her) I wouldn’t know😂
