I believe that post is a joke about how Max is cancelling AA oriented programming. Sesame street is (I believe) still owned by sesame workshop and just licensed to Max. Max can't cancel it, just not show it on their service and it can move elsewhere.

TBF I think elite protest is far more scary to elites because the ivies form the basis of elite reproduction. You need *some* dangerous ideas for spice. However, when discontent threatens certain core values it is a real, existential, threat to certain power relationships.

FWIW almost all of my frustrations with Japanese society are with the work culture. Avoid all of that, wear a sweater inside in the winter and find a way to stay cool in the summer and it's great.

The fact that learning isn't an iterative process is one of the reasons I hate any sort of graded work. In true academia, almost everything is pass/fail (with "distinctions" for the truly high flyers).

Having dealt with this sort of thing, it's likely a neighbor complained about something. The id check is usually just a pretext to sniff around. I used to get the cops called on me (and "random" id checks) every time I'd bike in particular areas.
