For 4 yrs I've used latinx, but I'm stopping (at least for a while). Several Hispanic colleagues spoke out recently about how offended and hurt they were by the word and how much pride the word Latino has for them.

I think sometimes I'm too easily influenced by this elite bubble I willingly spend lots of time in.

I'm making this claim public for a few reasons, one of which is I think I might be wrong and want to own that and model sharing my in progress thinking. And I want to open myself up for discussion on this topic.

So important when a teacher realizes that a students responses are (almost) always viable and reasonable and valuable.
