A Tesla wall charger and what they call Gateway V3 is needed to let the truck back feed to your house! These were included (I paid electricians to install) with purchase of Cybertruck Foundation edition

Just got my Starlink mini in a couple days before the storm, believe that would be a good more portable one for you if you ever have to be out on the road - the wireless is built into the antenna which is also smaller. Let my neighbor borrow mine

Agree they did do load calculations as I know I had to make choices like I chose the AC that would hold us over and no electric oven (countertop toaster oven should suffice). If it does go over the 11kw that I think the truck is rated for I will let you know what happens

Look close, 2 plus days! If I average 1kw per hour then I should have 4 days with the truck having 123Kwh with spare incase I need to drive around. End goal is to get solar to keep topped up during day to extend even further

Sitting in the Cybertruck in the Woodlands, TX showroom and getting to play was awesome. FYI, only one for show currently in Houston, met a customer who just came up from Cypress as he couldn’t interact with delivery Cybertrucks. Also, of note is that this is a Foundation

Still going strong! No hiccups - 47% and we have over a day of battery left - have been really doing a lot without missing much and we have a separate model 3 with a lot of charge, the lines everywhere for gas stations are crazy so just glad I don’t feel the need to go out and

Tesla matched me with a company from California who designed and installed the system (gateway v3 + Tesla charger) a few weeks back. I went on vacation and when I got back truck had the software update enabling it with 2 days to spare

Large house, multi story. I had to choose AC to run on backup and chose an upstairs smaller 3ton unit thinking that it will let cold air flow down to main floor. I missed a few breakers that I will be working on getting included for the future but well, septic, is included

Yes, Ford can use a portion of the Tesla supercharger network starting a couple weeks ago. Owners can signup for a free adapter. Rivian followed just after. This should help Ford sales for sure

Yes it is somewhere around 9 powerwalls, the big difference is that it takes a couple seconds to switch over… we are used to that with a generator startup taking 30 seconds. Powerwalls would make it even more seamless, I have an order in and an assessment later this month to

Know the feeling with my 2018 model 3 not having the latest infotainment setup, but I am really happy that they upgraded my FSD computer from 2.5 -> 3 and that they are still working to get latest FSD build tuned to HW3, cannot blame them for pushing out earlier to AI4 (HW4)

My solar is on the grid side (install was years ago, pre battery and thus per code has to shutdown with the grid - part of the PTO approval which has us setup like a power provider). I am looking for the right company to help me change this (with Powerwall?) and get my solar off

Agree, making folks turn off self driving because we need to change station or check a setting is much less safe! Same with full stops, this definitely will cause more accidents because it’s not how real people drive

We heard we may get the grid back tomorrow, will believe it when we see it. Good news yesterday was that we found and captured a generator service tech who helped get our generator back up and running so we have 2 layers helping us wait for grid to come back up!

Cannot agree enough, had my truck for a couple days and the square like wheel is amazing, small but doesn’t matter as it’s steer by wire and with simple left or right movement of a few inches it’s getting you around busy traffic or backing into parking spaces like it’s a small

No power walls required. Yes the Gateway V3 box is kind of like an ATS (automatic transfer switch) on steroids as it has some space for breakers as well. Haven’t hit up against the 11KW max, but am assuming it will shut off like my generator does when overloaded

While someone could do this and make it work with one of those manual disconnects that folks use with a generator my setup is simpler and automatic. You come home and plug into the charger, when home loses power the truck starts feeding back through the same charge cable

Funny thing is they are running the latest FSD on my 4 year old hardware 3, while HW4 is running FSD in HW3 emulation mode. That says to me they aren’t using the full capability of even the 4 hardware yet!

My 6 year old Tesla Model 3 got this FSD update recently, it lets me choose the parking spot (easy or hard like in this video) and the car figures it out better then I can (though maybe a bit slow, this will get faster over time)
