I don't expect anything from thin people. I know they hate the sight of me. I know, especially in the age of Ozempic, they want me to vanish. But even "hey many years ago I wrote a book that's not who I am or what I'm about now and I understand the harm it did." would be nice.

I'm not mad Culkin is gonna win an Oscar, I'm not even mad he's going to win it for that movie/performance, both of which I loved and are genuinely masterful, I think. But he's a lead. It's a cheat.

Latest #WhiteboardMagic is .... three "spot the difference" books from the dollar tree disassembled and hung up. No markers, etc to write on them, didn't laminate them, just have them stand around and look/talk/guess. Cheap and fun, this one is a definite hit.

I have to say the Belpré Awards really delivered this year. A wide range of titles from new and seasoned creators, I especially *really* loved SHUT UP, THIS IS SERIOUS it reminded me of so many kids I went to high school with.
