Apple’s regressive stance on sexual content being available on its largest platform is verging on a full on moral panic and it’s really gross. Entire businesses and communities have been crushed by it, and it often hurts queer and trans communities most.

Will is right here. It trivial problem to solve technically, but Apple’s objections are moralistic and they are completely uninterested in technical solutions that protect freedom of expression for adults on iOS. They couch this in the idea of “safety”, but safety for whom?
@mb This should be a solveable problem. If the device has parental controls active, there should be an API that lets the app know "hey, don't show stuff to accounts that have this level of content locked".

I notice this every day in almost every app. The level of craft in modern software is at a much lower level than it was even 5 years ago, and significantly lower than it was 10 years ago across many categories.
Any of you older tech millennials notice apps got. worse somehow? Like the basic usability stuff: account logins not working, patterns that are incredibly unusual. ?.

It’s actually totally fine to start a company to make money. You can figure out a business plan that uses your skills and maintain a work / life balance while building something you have equity in. It doesn’t have to eat you alive. It’s not a waste of time. It’s not shameful.
If you want to start a company because it sounds like a nifty way to make money, you are wasting your time. Start a company because you have this idea that is just eating you alive inside and you have to get it out into the world for the pure satisfaction of making it happen.
