的最后一周。休整半个月后就要在哈佛

开始至少为期五年的博士生涯。
这大概是我这辈子为自己做的比较重要的决定之一，希望将来的自己不会后悔。
做出这个决定，除了从个人兴趣角度考虑之外，其实很多也是对大环境的看法所致。

新闻消费（news consumption）和新闻研究（news research）有什么区别？前者为了娱乐，后者为了决策。
其实社会中的大多数人都不需要对时事新闻有所了解，尤其是在工作中。知道每天的新闻不会让一个程序员更快的得到加薪，也不会让普通员工得到晋升管理层的机会。

这也是为什么我选择了哈佛的教育学院读博，而不是我本身的工程专业。

14/ 如何以知识获取为目的的优化信息？
首先，你要知道用户学习的目的是什么？对什么行业感兴趣？现有的知识基础是什么？
在这些信息的基础之上，推荐系统再梯度化的推送信息，让用户接收到可以理解而又拓展知识边界的信息。
这就需要推荐系统既懂信息的相关性，也掌握一定的教育理念（pedagogy）

13/ 我认为新闻行业应该深挖它的知识内核。新闻里面蕴含了很多帮助人们理解这个世界的信息，但是因为每个人需要的信息，已经掌握的知识体系都不一样， 新闻要做到所谓的千人千面。
但是，这里的千人千面不是Facebook或者TikTok那种以上瘾为目的的个性化推送。而是以知识获取为目的的信息优化。

7/ 实话说，除了像彭博这样有其他收入给新闻业务输血的商业模式之外，整个新闻行业并没有什么很成功的、可以规模化的模式。路透和彭博走的是一个路子。
纽约时报只能有一个，很难复制。
那些靠billionaire owners输血的，其实和当下的non profit news 是一个模式，多少有点化缘度日的意思。

而这其中，相当一部分人读报纸是为了娱乐或者广告信息，而不是新闻。
在乔布斯的传记中就说到，他通过读报纸的广告找到了在Atari的第一份工作。我相信他并不在乎哪天的头条是什么。这就是报纸所谓的utility value。

11/ 新闻行业本身的偏见问题，暂时不表。从商业逻辑角度来看，大部分人对新闻的需求就是娱乐化和情绪化的消费，而这些，抖音等平台可以完美满足。
而对于认真想要从新闻中获许知识的人来说，我们现有的新闻产品又太过初级了。一旦用户付费跨过paywall之后，基本没有任何用户体验可言。

10/ 在attention如此稀缺的今天，如果为了娱乐，大家自然有更好的选择，无论是TikTok或者YouTube。既免费，又好看。
而新闻，从某种程度上来说，回归了初心。但也变成了一个更小众的产品。想要认真学习和了解一个话题，从多个角度去思考，并能为不同观点而付钱的人，从来都是少数。

2/ 因为产品经理的职位有机会接触各个部门的人，这几年着实感觉彭博是个世界级的公司。
因为核心产品Bloomberg Terminal在业界有着垄断地位，同时又是一个私人公司，彭博难得的可以用很长远的眼光去规划产品，去认真的打磨细节。一个不起眼的功能往往就会有一个很完整的团队去负责。

6/ 自从我在洛杉矶时报干了两年news innovation的活之后，我的兴趣就从之前的可穿戴设备变成了寻找更可持续的新闻商业模式。虽然彭博的经历很丰富，收入也不错，但做活动，而不是新闻产品，心里总有种隔靴搔痒的感觉。
不过我心里也清楚，其实业界最好的选择就是彭博了。

12/ 满屏的信息等着用户自己去归类，而且大部分时候要靠运气才能看到自己感兴趣的话题。
大部分网站的搜索功能都很难用。所以当用户真的想深挖一个话题时，往往得不到想要的知识。所以留不住用户。也就没有什么可持续的商业模式。
