No national contender? I’d argue in a conference so evenly matched, whoever gets that auto bid will be one of the most battle tested teams in the CFP. I’d rather have a schedule of teams that play us within 3 points than beat up on Vandy or Purdue just to get embarrassed round 1.

UW has reminded me a lot of 2021 Oregon this season. Really only 1 good win with several close calls against not good opponents. I’m not saying we’re gonna do to them what we did to Oregon in 2021 but we realistically have a shot at this.

I’m not hopeful about our tournament chances this season but with this kid….if we can work something in the portal we may just have a shot next season. We won’t win the conference by any means but B12 will easily get 6-7 bids maybe more. Finishing in the top half seems doable.

Most Ute fans I know are too young to remember how much of a shit show their program was prior to 2003.
Urban, came in and went 10-2 to win the MWC his first year.
Prior to 2003 the last outright conference title Utah had was in 1957!!!

The main difference is BYU continued to dominate in 2021 apart from a bowl loss with a backup QB. Was Utah better than injury ridden BYU with Baylor Romney at quarterback? Sure. But not with Jaren.
