2024: Let's give this Twitter thing a try 🤔 2025: Legendary @marc_louvion posted about me 🤯 Life's crazy. I've met so many cool people on Twitter, learned a ton and found inspiration almost daily. Gotta love this community 🙏❤️
This guy made $3.4M in 2024 and did 0 marketing. I met Erikas @malisauskasLT at a meetup in Paris and his story blew my mind... In 2016, he was building Shopify websites as a freelancer. He was making enough money not to stress about it but felt the itch to build a product where his income wouldn't be tied to his input. In 2018, he started building tiny startups with his co-founder. None of them really took off but they made just enough money to sell & repeat. In 2021, they focused on Shopify apps. The 1st app took off and paid more than the bills ($6.5K MRR at peak). They sold it in 2023 for $250K and built a new app with all the experience acquired. In 2024, their 2nd app grew to a 6-figure MRR (in a year 🤯) How? Shopify recommends the app to its customers because it has excellent ratings. Free, organic, and high-converting marketing channel. Erikas' story is the perfect reminder that: - You can make money even if you hate marketing—leverage app stores and build a killer app - Pivot when things don't take off after a while - Patience and daily grind are king Go build that idea!

Just got featured on @IndieHackers! Shared pretty much everything from why/how I started to how I found a co-founder, how we made a $250K exit, how we scaled to 6-figure MRR afterwards, etc. Btw, Midjourney really missed with that thumbnail 🤣

@TravelNicheBro @gabriel__xyz Out of curiosity I’ve been following how’s it doing in rankings first couple of months after the sale. Now I don’t care anymore 🤷🏻♂️ I’m sure it’s doing alright as it still ranks pretty high in app store. If I had to guess, it could be doing 7-10k MRR.

@gabriel__xyz Sorry, I realized I've mistaken the year. We sold it in 2023. We launched it in 2021.

@ShoaAamir @gabriel__xyz I sold it in Shopify app developers Facebook group. I also had it listed on and had few leads from there.

Well, after the exit we shifted our focus to our new app which is at 6-figure MRR now, so it was definitely worth it 😅 It was doing well but our competition was rising and we felt like we hit the ceiling with that MRR. I think it was a win-win scenario. We're happy to have sold it and focused on our new app, while the buyer is happy because that app probably already paid off 😅

@KatieKeithBarn2 Yeah, it’s mostly dropshippers. They close/scale down their stores in January also because of Chinese festive season, as many suppliers cannot ship out orders.
