In fairness of firing Gorton, he really did not do all that much. Panarin and Trouba were always coming to NY. Kakko and Lafreniere were pure lottery luck. He pretty much completely struck out on the Stepan and McDonagh/Miller trades. Shesterkin/Buchnevich were already drafted
