Many still are out of fear of the "church"
We are now being led to believe that the average Irish person was being repressed by the Church right into the 1990s. I was born in the 1960s and I can assure you that few if any of my contemporaries, male or female, seemed too 'repressed'.

With lunches being provided in many DEIS schools when a pupil is absent the ‘spare’ lunches are often offered out to the class... in my experience I’ve often made sure to give spares to children I know are suffering but say nothing.
