@ialpa
pilots begin their 8-hour strike today, alongside an indefinite work to rule.
But there is a solution to this.
It's to pay pilots in line with inflation - a reasonable pay claim especially from a company that has had a 400% increase in profit.
Racism has no place in Irish society. It does nothing but rip our communities apart.
That's why we're at the
#IrelandForAll
march today. Trade unions are a movement built on solidarity, proud to fight for workers and proud to stand together!
We stand with communities.
We stand with migrants.
We stand with ALL workers.
Anyone peddling racism instead of real solutions doesn't care about you or your family.
After the violence last night in Dublin, we're again calling on workers of Ireland to reject hatred & division.
The far-right are escalating in Ireland.
The people they've been targeting - refugees, the LGBTQ+ community, library workers - have been warning us.
They do not represent working people. And they've no solutions to the real crises we face.
Stand in solidarity, stand together!
We're in Cork to say it loud and clear!

Racism has no place in Irish society.
Intimidating people in Direct Provision will do nothing except scare vulnerable people and rip our communities apart.

We're here to stand shoulder to shoulder with our members in the library & across the country, & with the LGBTQ+ community"
We proudly represent hardworking library staff across Ireland. They do integral work, including creating inclusive communities.
They should be applauded - not abused.
We support our dedicated members and won't accept any intimidation of our members in their workplaces!
Public library staff have been issued with instructions to secure buildings, alert gardaí and avoid commenting to the media in response to rising numbers of protesters seeking to remove LGBTQ+ books aimed at young people
Why are Aer Lingus pilots on strike today?
Hear from Mark Tighe, president of
@IALPA
, on why they won't accept a de facto pay cut from a company that has had a 400% increase in profit.

want

pilots to give 15 days strike notice, instead of the 7 days legally required.
Why? Because after 14 days notice, customers aren't entitled to compensation...
After 4 years without a pay increase, apparently pilots aren't entitled to fair wages either.

If management agree to a fair pay deal, this can be averted.
How did our members in

- No pay rise since 2019
- Bumper profits but won’t match wages to inflation

Why did the public sector pay talks adjourn?
Because the offer from the government didn’t address the cumulative gap between wages & inflation.
Listen below to what the initial offer would have meant in real terms for workers. 1/2
It used to be a 6 day working week, then it became 5. So why not 4 days now? And what would it mean?
✅Work week is 32 hours, not 40
✅No reduction in pay or productivity
✅Studies show it works
✅Better work life balance & mental health

Public Sector Pay - deal has been negotiated. What’s on the table?
- 10.25% over 2.5 years
- This is made up of pay increases of 9.25% plus a provision for a Local Bargaining mechanism equivalent to 1%

Domestic abuse leave should not be paid at the same rate as sick leave.
Why? Financial control by abusers is one of the reasons people struggle to escape. Lower rates of pay mean abusers might figure out that someone is taking this type of leave.
