I’m gonna run Power out of 23P unbalanced 40 times in a row. I’m having a 10 minute opening drive with 6 minute quarters. The final score will be 7-3. Neither one of us will have fun.
@theStevenRuiz
I’ve gotta find it, but somewhere there’s an interview of him where he’s asked to name a “fun fact” about himself and he goes “I don’t eat vegetables” which tracks 100%
Just heard a color analyst say on ESPN “I like this guy at linebacker because he reads pulling guards, which most college linebackers don’t do.” Uh, buddy… I teach my JV linebackers to read guards. That’s linebacker 101…
A first year OC somewhere is going to see this play, spend all of fall camp installing it, then call it in Week 1 and it will, in a best case scenario, result in an absolutely massive TFL
Just watched a weekly game planning video for a very large (6A) TX high school where they have a varsity staff of 13 and a handful of JV/JH guys and they’re all putting in like 80 hour weeks, and my one question is… are any of y’all married/have kids?

I present, with no further comment, my favorite 2 word call of all time courtesy of Scot Loeffler’s 2019 Bowling Green Playbook — Sonic Porno
Been watching so much Coastal Carolina Film over idk the last 2 years??? And one of the things I really love is how they run mid triple by arcing the PST to the corner and cracking with the PSWR. Gets the ball out to the edge quick
Harding making it to the DII national championship has made the flexbone coaches on Twitter go absolutely feral. Just taking shots at anything and everything they deem anti flexbone. Incredible stuff, can’t think of a single style of offense that elicits this level of commitment
Let me explicitly state what I mean here. Coaching requires time beyond the normal 40 hour work week. How much time is up for debate. My issue is with the fetishization of “the grind.” It isn’t healthy, and it’s driving a lot of really good coaches out of the profession.

Telling my JV offensive linemen that their playing time directly correlates to how much they help me with filming today’s varsity scrimmage. There will be a chapter on this in my culture e-book, available soon for $34.99
@adamkotsko
I get being someone who enjoys debate and all, but also read the room please. Not everyone in your 8AM history class thinks this is the Oxford Union. Some of us are hungover.
One of my favorite things about
@SplitZoneDuo
is it confirms the fact that there’s an entire community of people like me who lay awake at night wondering what the hell is going on with Southern Miss Football
@adamkotsko
“DEBATE ME” I scream at my fellow classmates who went out drinking last night and are simply counting down the minutes until they can go take a nap on their couch
@dirtbagqueer
Mine was also trap. Senior year, first home game my high school has ever had at an on campus stadium. Guard stood over me and did the Triple H entrance flex over top of me afterwards.
Last practice of Year 1 coaching football. Many thanks to
@CarrollFBCoach
for giving me the chance to help out. I’ve learned more about both football and working with kids than I ever thought possible. Now let’s win a championship!

Say what you will about the negatives of Zoom/online church services, but the biggest positive for me personally is that I can now listen to

@CoachIvany
Even the guys who don’t make it into the games serve a valuable purpose on any team. Often times, those guys also make the best coaches.
To the insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol today and caused a 6pm-6am curfew tonight, thus preventing me from making a late night Taco Bell run — I hope you’re happy
Tough loss for us in OT. Proud of this team! In August I stated keep your 👀's on the Cardinals. I shared building takes time. The building breakdown.. two 1-9 seasons to finish this reg.season 7-3, play-off appearance & graduating 6! The BI 🏈 future is in good standing‼️💪🙏💪
Guy behind the counter: "Latte for George . . . hey, are you George Demcopoulos of Public Orthodoxy?"
Me: "Yeah, that's me, how do you know Public Orthodoxy?"
Guy: "Are you kidding? It's the most important site on the internet and I'm not even Orthodox."
Me: "wow. thanks."
This past spring, I emailed about 15 head football coaches in the DMV asking for a chance to volunteer with their program…
@CarrollFBCoach
was the only coach to respond. Said if I helped film varsity games he’d let me coach JV. Well deserved recognition!
Coach Robert Harris buried his face in his hands, overcome with emotion after his Archbishop Carroll football team (
@carrol_ad
) completed their undefeated season with a 33-26 victory.
@LeahBSassy
Shocked the guy who jumped from fundie reformed to anglican to tradcath over the course of 18 months wouldn’t have a well thought out and coherent take on well, anything
There’s gotta be a better way. I know that this game requires a certain amount of work and that Texas is different and all, but I mean… that’s ridiculous
Going to a Wofford sponsored dinner tonight for students spending interim in DC - can’t wait to tell these kids all about how I’m using my degree in international affairs to sell pants
A lot of coaches have been tweeting about how they name their formations/plays lately, and basically there’s two camps — one that seeks brevity, and one that seeks being as explicit as possible in explaining everyone’s role.
If you’re tuning into FCS football this spring, I’ve put together a list of SOCON programs and their FBS equivalents for
@frontporchfbll
— let me know your thoughts.
Homecoming checklist:
All my best jawns so I can get a fit off 24/7: ✔️
A façade of postgrad success so I don’t have to let my guard down around my peers: ✔️
Antacids because my delicate stomach can no longer handle a dozen beers and a cookout tray any night of the week: ✔️
12 years ago I was on the first team
@TCS_football
ever fielded. We practiced on the baseball field and played our games across town at a municipal field. Incredible to think how far the program has come along.
We have our first state championship bound team!
@TCS_football
with a 59-33 win over Augusta Christian in the SCISA Class 3A semifinals.
They'll play at Charleston Southern on Friday night at 7pm against Hammond.
Holy moly. I don't think I can do this. First words out of Peterson's mouth in the Joe Rogan interview are complete self parody. I can't even dunk on it.
If you’re an OL Coach, these are great clinics. The IZ and pass pro bundles have been especially useful for me. Coach Rudolph is one of the best in the business.
Sale still running, won’t last much longer‼️
Other bundle sales running as well:
Inside zone bundle - 39.95 60% off
Wide zone and reach - 24.95 50% off
Pass pro series 31.95 - almost 50%
This is a party where 99% of conversations revolve around the two most important english language texts of all time; the 1662 Book of Common Prayer and the 2008 Alabama Defensive Playbook
We’ve hit that time period on HS football Twitter where kids are getting their first break from summer workouts. You can tell because coaches are finally releasing all the pent up rage from losing 7on7 tournaments. The subtweets are at an all time high.
Just received my copy of the 2019 ACNA Book of Common Prayer Traditional Language Edition — many thanks to
@hootjjj
,
@FrMatkin
, and everyone else on the committee who helped put this together!
App State football in the SoCon: Mortal enemy - intense,
burning hatred for the program and all that it stands for
App State in the Sun Belt:
Quite possibly my favorite FBS program
One of the most tiresome and downright dumb arguments people in both TEC & ACNA continue to engage in is this silly argument over who is the ‘rightful’ province of North America. I’m here to say no one actually cares, and at this point it doesn’t even matter.
Spending this MDW weekend out on the lake, alternating between listening to the Allman Brothers Band & My Morning Jacket and Coors Light & Miller Lite. Beyond parody, folks
If you’ve ever seen or heard someone talk about running triple option out of the gun, chances are they learned it from Wade Lang. An offensive innovator if there ever was one.
Put some shoes on to go give my rent check to my landlord, and I had to document this fit. We may have had the fit of the decade on day 1. All downhill from here, folks
Well, the background check has been completed so I feel pretty good about sharing this — I’m excited to announce that I’m joining
@_STAFOOTBALL_
this fall as an assistant coach! Thankful for
@o_martin90
for giving me the opportunity — Go Bulldogs!
This photo is my style inspiration forever and always. I remember the day that the belt
@andy_koontz
is wearing in this photo broke like it was yesterday!
@CoachBrettHall
The crazy thing in my mind is that you are seeing the change at the highest levels of the game towards a more manageable quality of life… guys leaving college for the NFL, but a lot of high school coaches still want to spend 15 hours on campus on Saturday/Sunday
I’m just a guy who dropped out of grad school but I can’t help but notice a lot of people are tweeting about WWIII who probably would’ve guessed Quds Force was a show on Cartoon Network 24 hours ago
I need a sociologist somewhere out there in academia to do a journal article on the effect that game day head set assignments have on the social hierarchy/dynamics of a coaching staff.
Every football coach on Twitter should have a profile picture of them wearing a headset. The headset is an unspoken badge of honor that tells the world that you coach football.
Are there other sports that has something that a coach can wear that indicates what sport they coach?
@AmishCatholic
I think he was trying to pursue ordination within ACNA as well oddly enough — usually this type of guy is confined to the Continuum (to be clear, ACNA has its own distinctly different kind of weirdo guy)
Big day today - after two years, I finally convinced my landlord to let me put a net up on the basketball goal behind the house. 2020 is the summer of the mid range jump shot
Had to go to the eye doctor this morning, which is less than ideal... but on the bright side, everyone called me “Lonnie” the entire time I was there. I’m going by Lonnie from now on. I will not be taking any questions at this time.
My goal is not to avoid work, it’s to be ruthlessly efficient. With practice, with film, with game planning. Don’t waste time, effort, or reps. Do what you need to get done and get out.
I rewatched the first half of the Wofford-Mercer game, and I have thoughts on the changes to the offense. I was expecting something akin to Coastal Carolina’s offense, but Wofford really came out and essentially ran 4 run plays — inside zone, outside zone, pin/pull, & power.
