This group is quoted multiple times weekly by the Times as a respectable, good, upright organisation opposing GRR.
They are regularly abusive -- here referring to a prominent trans women as male genitalia. They are not respectable. They are not respectful.
They're just hateful.

I can't believe an actual paper's Political Editor wrote this sentence.
I could've gone to Scotland to stay with my sister and her husband, help look after their kid. I had train tickets to go up, booked before lockdown was announced. But I didn't because I didn't want to spread. I've been in a flat alone in London for 80 days.
Fuck you Boris.
People have told me since the start of this the rules would really allow me to head home to Aberdeenshire for the good of my own health. But I've stayed in Glasgow, somewhere with a higher rate of infection than my parents rural home because it's the right thing to do.

Some people say it's not true that men can give birth, despite, you know, plenty of folk knowing men (or non-binary people) who have: there's plenty of public record of such.

There's a lot of culture in the Western world built on the idea that "people like us can't be fascists".
Particularly middle class people. The Daily Mail has historical reasons to avoid attacking fascists, for instance.
@ElspethSummers
Do ... do they remember that they claim that that's a gendered insult?
Do they not realise that a sign which is, by their terms, misogynistic abuse of people's mothers does not help their case that they're not fuelled by misogyny, agism and other bigotries?
The level of online abuse Paisley has suffered is horrendous.
Anyone aware of this who claims to condemn online abuse must surely support him and condemn his abusers.
I see Wings Against Scotland's got a blog out today attacking the Equality Act. (Explicitly, the definition of disability in the EqA, to the point of "look, I'm linking to a doc saying it's the EqA definition.)
It's explicitly disability hatred and anti-human rights.
@Michael16681811
@AlixWzl
No, trans women are female.
The concept that "male" and "female" are terms referring explicitly to some concept of sex is a contentious view some people wish to establish: it is not truth.
Kate and Ash have defended JK Rowling's belief on trans rights. This included a lot of theories that have been identified as very close to antisemitism. She's supported very abusive people.
She's widely known as a major threat to free speech.
Seriously, how anyone can argue that post, or by extension that group, is not straightforwardly transphobic has clearly got to a point where they won't recognise bigotry against trans people. (See also: Rowling.)
The Speaker tells SNP MPs that although this bill is only about funding for English NHS -- and that this has direct consequentials for Scotland's budget thanks to Barnett -- votes of Scottish MPs will not be counted.

While talking trans rights nonstop for years, saying she'd protest against any infringement thereof, she's ignoring topical major bans on trans support for kids in the US.
I don't talk enough of how dedicated & hardworking

How much effort she goes to avoid taking credit for some big stuff she does because she's a team player. How concerned she is about helping people. Kind, principled, generous
But folk who work with her know this.
@MhairiBlack
Thank you for speaking out on this radicalisation that has been ignored by major news outlets preferring to platform those spitting misinformation claiming they are being silenced.
"As legislators, talking about some of the most vulnerable people in society, we have a duty to educate ourselves -- and we've had five years to educate ourselves" --
@MhairiBlack
in the Westminster Hall debate on GRA reform.
"If we just do what we've always done, we'll get the same results" -- Kate Forbes in the C4 debate.
The results we've got are 16 years in government, with rising support for independence. I think a lot of SNP supporters would like those results.
This is the reason that Labour have a huge credibility gap. SLab grandees continue to work side-by-side with Tories (and now DUP) to push one of their central policies.
I see Economist Editor and key face of acceptable anti-trans stuff is sharing what The BBC would describe as "criticism of anti-racism".
"Exposing kids to Anti-Racism (AR) is a Social Identity Threat (SIT) that makes certain kids more susceptible to Radical Gender Theory (RGT)."

Criticising people for referring to views or to people as hateful is not “taking hate out of the debate”.
It’s the precise opposite; it is protecting and legitimising hate by forcing others to pretend it is not hate.

The Speaker just said "Can I just make it clear it's the 'Scottish National Party' not the 'Scottish Nationalist Party'"
Johnson (who consistently makes a point of getting it wrong) referred to it as a ruling.
Hoyle: "It's not a ruling, it's a matter of fact".

Ah, I see Rowling has decided to publish novels explicitly mocking disability rights and telling disabled people they aren't disabled.
(I wonder how her arguing against the Equality Act 2010, which clarifies disability in UK law operates on self-ID, squares with her other views)
I'm pretty much certain this book was written less about why people online shouldn't criticize her, and more because Joanne here thinks disabled people should die.

I remember a few years back, transphobes were talking about how they used the term explicitly to deny the fact that trans people are really trans (i.e. 'just identifying as such') as well as the social reality of their gender/sex.
Martine should probably look at her history.
"Since Metoo, this distinction has become so clouded that almost anything – hair stroking, touching, social kissing – can be construed as sexual harassment."
Yes, Iain, almost any form of sexual harassment can be construed as sexual harassment.

Sorry, to clarify, this is the person who's been shouting to the rooftops for years that trying to go to someone's work to get them fired is wrong doing exactly that?
"The principle that if someone born male wishes to be seen and treated as if they had been born female, society at large should accept this, based only on their personal declaration and subjective definition of what that means.'
That's how the Equality act views it, certainly.
If you as one person are managing to be, by yourself, the single reason a lot of people -- and young politically active people at that-- are being driven away from your political party, you really need to take a long hard look at yourself
BBC 6 O'Clock News says that

"could affect the future of the United Kingdom".
The idea that an election on the government of Scotland could have no effect on the future of the UK is a sign of how much London ignore us, how much we need independence.
Fake social media profiles pretending to be pro-indy, pro-Salmond, anti-GRA, stirring up trouble within the SNP seem as though they are a tool that would be exceptionally helpful to any group trying to sabotage Scottish Independence.
The BBC are about to give anti-trans extremist Graham Lineham a slot on their prime news programme Newsnight to talk about "gender Ideology".
Here's what Human Rights Watch told him yesterday about the far-right trope he's about to be telling the nationa about.
@Glinner
You should know that the term “gender ideology” is a far-right trope used by conspiracy theorists & authoritarian-minded political parties to undermine women’s rights & gay rights. In using that term, you’re giving haters a boost.

I got your letter. Your work is discriminatory, your twitter feed is shocking, and increasingly biphobic in addition to your stated rejection of the existence of trans and non binary people. So no, I won’t be meeting with you. I don’t meet with hate groups.
I see Stu Campbell (Wings) is now explicitly supporting material calling for the Gender Recognition Act (not reform, straight up GRA) a bad law.
And which repeats the utter lie that Ian Huntley has transitioned. (He hasn't. This is a lie.)
He's transphobic and spreads hate.
@MrJohnNicolson
For a group of people who seem to want to disprove allegations of being an abusive hate-filled mob, they're really doing a terrible job.
I was surprised by just how vicious and abusive the replies I got yesterday were.

If I was surviving on pro-Indy donations and claiming I care about Scottish Independence & the SNP don't, I would simply not publish a blog about how I wasted money on a pointless poll tangentially related to my hate-obsession the day after ignoring the biggest pro-Yes poll ever.
Nicola Sturgeon has been accused of a lot of things, but not often malice, as can be seen with the grace and patience with which she treats those doing all they can to undermine her, whether purely out of ambition or to please the powerful, if fading, older man. 4/4
Great answer.
Just because one feels bullied doesn't make it real.
