We measured brain activity over the whole head but focused on regions that support inhibitory control in the prefrontal cortex. Using a generalized linear model (GLM), we saw that brain activity (oxy:HbO, deoxy:HbR) was right-lateralized, matching prior research.

48 participants did an inhibitory control task (go/no-go) before and after three different doses of alcohol: target Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) = 0.04%, target BAC = 0.08%, and placebo. The task goes fast so it’s easy to make a mistake and accidentally press when you shouldn’t!
