Following our meeting at the South-West Governors’ Forum, we have collectively resolved to establish a dedicated security outfit aimed at addressing banditry and criminal activities in our region. The safety and well-being of our citizens remain our highest priority, and this new initiative will strengthen security efforts across our states. Additionally, we have agreed to establish joint food hubs to tackle food inflation and ensure food security for all. By fostering stronger collaboration in agriculture, we are determined to make food more accessible and affordable to our people. As a forum, we also express our appreciation to President @officialABAT for his continuous efforts to stabilize the economy, manage the exchange rate, and address petrol prices, all of which play a crucial role in national progress. Our discussions also covered key regional issues such as security, agriculture, economic collaboration, and the creation of the Southwest Development Commission, which will serve as a catalyst for coordinated development across our states. I am hearing that one of the top priorities for SWDC will be connecting SW states with rail lines( intra regional rail). The amendment NRC act that seeks to open the rail lines to the private sector will be facilitate the process. From what I hear, the private investors are already around. $4 - $6 billion dollars should be enough To connect SW states via rail.
