Found out my Father Brown spec-script "The Wrong Scone" won 2nd place in the One-Hour Drama category of Scriptapalooza's (

And they tried to tell us that we girls/women "needed" all that calcium and whatnot that was in the milk for our bones, yet it turns out a lot of that supplemental stuff is added in AFTER it comes outta Ms. Cow; we can get our calcium & other nutrients from veg and other sources.
@speakupok
@FeelGoodPage11
Of COURSE it did! Even the BEARS are polite up there! :D (and maybe he's related to Paddington Bear, the most polite bear in the world...)
@aedison
I had a similar experience! I was working the VIP door/list at a premiere at Paramount & while a lot of more haughty LA celebs were just blowing right past me, I looked up from my list & was surprised to him standing right next to me, politely checking in with no ego/attitude!😄
@ben_rosen
That's weird you should say that, I was just thinking of a similar scene for my own "morally ambiguous" character who really IS having a remorseful breakdown over what he's done, only at the sink/mirror instead; what IS it about bathrooms that inspires attacks of conscience?😁
@onecoding1
@insufficentfund
I always preferred the old-timey character actors, too; they always looked more like "real" people w/distinct faces as opposed to all the lookalike "hotties" who like they were all made on the same assembly line! (even back then, women could be beautiful & still be distinctive)
@inimitablepgw
I love that silly mock-posh surname so much that I gave it to my little dog, whose first name was Basil (as an homage to Fawlty Towers, of course!😁), so his full name was “Basil Bassington-Bassington”, a proper Wodehouse-y sounding big name for a little dog!😄
Can anyone see this post? I just got a weird red-flag in my Notifications saying my account has been restricted for “spam” and/or “platform manipulation”(?!) even tho I’ve NEVER done like that or anything offensive worth reporting for that matter! And it wiped out my followers!😧
@awfulfawaffle
@fisackerly
Me, neither! They must’ve just put it up fairly recently! That’s so great that they’re honoring Kevin Conroy like that, though, with those flowers!
@ClassicShowbiz
Good for him! Moe of the 3 Stooges did something similar when they did a show somewhere down South; the "law"at the time said black men couldn't walk on the same side of the street as white folk, but Moe said screw that & walked alongside an elderly black man just to show them!😁

My hub & I are both vegan; when he went to visit his "old-school" Italian dad in N.Y., his dad had bought him real-meat cold-cuts and asked my husband "What, cold-cuts aren't vegan?" :D Different generation, that's for sure!
Anyone who knows me can guess that this is one of my fave episodes of Frasier, the one where Richard E. Grant, Robbie Coltrane & Anthony LaPaglia all guest-starring at the same time to play Daphne’s rowdy, perpetually-plastered brothers!😄

Yay! Their "Jeeves & Wooster" series is still one of my favourite series of all time that I could watch again and again (not to mention their work together on "A Bit of Fry & Laurie" and in Blackadder...). Brilliantly funny chemistry together!
I always loved the great twist in Galaxy Quest of how Alan Rickman’s loathed catchphrase which had been so funny earlier in the film was now delivered w/such genuine pathos in this scene, like he finally understood the humanising “motivation” of his character when it hit home!
@Stan_And_Ollie
My husband & I LOVED the "Stan and Ollie" film with Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly, but we were SO disappointed that it didn't even get nominated for any Oscars; Reilly SHOULD'VE at least been nominated for his sweet, poignant portrayal as Babe (and deserved to even win, too)
Found out my 4th

I read about this in the Stooges’ bios that I read, and thought that was so cool, since he was already my favourite for being such a natural comic-genius; then it turned out he had a kind heart for animals, too! (So did Harpo Marx, he also rescued/adopted a lot of animals!☺️👍)

I agree, you can definitely improve ideas by bouncing them off one another - look at the writer’s rooms of classic shows that produced incredibly high-quality episodes- that’s why those shows are considered classics!

Yeah, same here 4-5 a.m. is usually around the time I finally pass out too once my racing brain finally usually hits its limit! (In fact, it’s 4 a.m. now!)
@realsarahpolley
Also when actors do self-tape auditions at home they expect them to have the lighting- that's right the LIGHTING- absolutely bloody perfect, the BACKGROUND has to be "neutral", etc., etc, The actors aren't union crew paid to build a set, they're just reading LINES for God's sake!
I can’t lose Twitter since this is how I connected w/other creatives who’ve become my friends/supporters of my writing over in the UK (where I’ve fit in better). As a shy ND w/no friends in LA, it’s my only social-life til I can finally move to the UK on a permanent basis!🤞
@RegalPastry
@benmekler
Funny! I loved the episode when they first made Lisa a vegetarian, back in the days before veganism was a thing; wasn't there a line where Homer sarcastically berates Lisa for claiming that pork, bacon and ham all come from the same "magical animal"? Or was that a different ep.?
YayI JUST FINALLY FINISHED my original pilot spec that I need to submit to the FB prod b4 they can look at my actual specs for the show! Now I can finally get some SLEEP & get back to writing even more FB specs, since I came up w/2 MORE ideas for it while working on this pilot!😁

#Wonka
if you haven’t seen it yet, guys! It’s made by the same team that did the Paddington films (still 2 of my all-time faves), so of course it’s funny, sweet & moving (& not at all creepy like the previous remake!😄) & has an amazing cast & gorgeous production values!😍
@popeguilty
@ben_rosen
That's a good way of looking at it, too! And you're also not trying to keep up any pretenses of public behaviour, it really is just you alone w/your thoughts in the one place you can let your guard down w/o people seeing you!

One of my best Hollywood memories is getting to see Statler & Waldorf pop up in the balcony of the Disney theatre before the premiere of the first Muppet movie reboot a few years back to do a couple of good funny heckles. They were always two of my favourite Muppets!

for rep to submit this & my Father Brown specs to the show!
I’ll never be able to watch this scene without crying. One of the most poignant endings of any tv show (made even more powerful & heartbreaking by the fact that it was one of the funniest sitcoms ever up to that point!)
@DanielleNicki
As unoriginal as it sounds, I always find videos of adorable animals making happy chomping sounds as they blissfully eat their vittles to be inexplicably soothing! (like that one of the tiny orphaned baby fox diving into his bowl of food that was just posted today!🥰🦊)
Nice surprise in the mail today: a piece I wrote for my comic hub (“First Comedian on Mars”) was reprinted in this new issue of MAD magazine (was 1st published in their Oct. 2019 issue), which means I guess they liked it enough to include it in this new best-of compilation!☺️🙏
Me & the late, great Basil Basington during lockdown!❤️(he passed on very unexpectedly later on that year!😔) I miss him! He was such a sweetheart with everyone! (as well as being a cute little Muppet-face!🥰🐶)
Pic of my dog after paramedics left on Fri (after I’d twisted my ankle & hit my head falling on the stairs!😵💫) & they told me to stay OFF my feet/keep my foot iced; she wasn’t checking on me out of concern but b/c she wanted me to get up & get her treats!🤦🏻♀️The ANTI-Service Dog!😄

Yeah, Phil’s complete cluelessness was always funny!🤣On a related note, did you ever see the episode of Finding Your Roots where Ty Burrell found out he’s descended from a former-slave woman who became a homesteading pioneer out west all on her own? Cool story!
@BookwormSairs
@michaelsheen
He would make a great Doctor, wouldn't he? And that would be a funny kind of synchronicity, both Crowley AND Aziraphale having played the Doctor! Though I think Michael's Doctor would probably be less cheeky and a bit more roaringly good-natured Welshman! 🙂

So, the hub brought me back a little “souvenir”from his latest show road-trip! 🤨 It’s really knocked the seven bells out of me, too, so I’m trying to stay offline as much as possible & rest up; so apologies if I don’t respond/post as much as usual for a bit til I recover more!🤒
@ChaseMit
And ironically even tho the Green Arrow was one of my fave DC characters in the comic books, he was always one of my LEAST fave characters in the CW/DC shows, since there was something about this guy that rubbed me the wrong way; now I know my gut instinct about him was right!😄
@analog_dave
@bimbotoad
I agree, I always thought they were both great in those roles, and considering that their co-stars were essentially pieces of felt, they really brought a lot of humour & genuine pathos to those characters! Made the suspension of disbelief even easier than some all-human casts!😄
@DMinghella
It's bad here in the U.S.,too, people putting THEIR individual "rights" above the health & welfare of society as a whole; We all got vaccines as children w/no problems & as a result we no longer suffer from polio, smallpox, etc. So why all of a sudden this sudden reluctance?
I’m honoured to say that one of my tv-specs was chosen for this year’s

Today’s my last day/night in the UK before I have to fly back to LA tomorrow!😭I’m going to miss it since this is my happy place where my Brit-soul belongs.♥️ (& unfortunately I never heard back from any of the UK agents/producers who I queried for a meeting while I was here!😔)

Still headachy from Cov. bout last wk (FINALLY tested neg. this wk!) but made myself go to a bday party last nite since I’ve been feeling so isolated lately! Glad I did since everyone was SO nice & genuinely interested in talking to me about my writing! So NOT an LA/Biz party!😁
Off to Whole Foods, since I have nothing better to do on a Saturday night & slowly going stir-crazy (not that I’ll get much interesting conversation at the grocery store, but at least I’ll get a few nice treats for myself!🤷🏻♀️)

I always got a definite creep vibe from him whenever I've seen him in person; he "checked me out" once as I was passing by him & it made my skin crawl (shudder). And yeah, his thin-skinned smarm on the show is unbearable. He never brings real experts on who can challenge him!
@CarlosVuelo
@Variety
That’s what I was thinking, too!😁With all the alt-universe/non-canon films they do nowadays, Brosnan could play an older Bond who comes out of retirement for one last mission; it’d be nice to see a return to a “fun” lighter Bond after the so-serious/grim tone of the last films.
As much as I love David Suchet’s Poirot overall, this 1974 film version of Murder on the Orient Express is still my favourite version of this story; incredible cast & glamorous production values!

Got flowers to cheer myself up a bit (latest setback: Mac update mucked up Final Draft just when I was close to finally finishing Hawkwood 2; wanted to do a table-read b4 the holidays!🤦🏻♀️More delays while it’s fixed!) they’re pretty but always feel weird buying flowers for myself!
Just rewatched the 1978 version of Evil Under the Sun; great cast (including Maggie Smith & Diana Rigg) but to me, Peter Ustinov is to Poirot what Adam West was to Batman - goofy & entertaining but not as true & perfect to the character as David Suchet was (still my fave Poirot!)

Yeah, I’ve always hated that word “nag” since it just deflects the responsibility from the person who’s actually avoiding it; I tell my hub that I wouldn’t have to ASK him repeatedly to do things if he just DID it the first half-dozen times that I POLITELY asked..!😄🙄🤦🏻♀️

I agree! I loved Caine in this! He should’ve at least been nominated for this, but I’m sure it wasn’t taken seriously as a dramatic role since his co-stars were Muppets! (But even they were good “actors”- look at the pathos & humour they could get from these mere felt objects!)

Yes! I was just about to mention that Futurama bit, too! I can't even THINK about that heartbreakingly-sad montage of Seymour faithfully waiting for years for Fry to come home without crying my eyes out! 😢
