@Nate_Kenway 2 shillings the equivalent of 20¢ today would get us a bus to the cinema & back, entry (cartoon, couple of serials like Flash Gordon & Buck Rogers, then main feature), ice cream & soda. 4 kids in the family cost 8 shillings all up which was apparently quite a lot in those days.
