ANNOUNCEMENT: I have decided not to do 2025 calendars. I have neither the time nor the energy. Plus, my son will be visiting for 3 weeks in Nov & I want to be fully available for his visit. I'm so very sorry. I do have greeting cards available though. Will post about those soon.

After some bruising encounters yesterday where some suggested that my photos are of no significance (it takes 1000 attaboys to equal 1 put down), I suppose I'd better get back to feed cleansing. For the people who appreciate this stuff, here's a splendid fairywren at Gluepot.

Eight years ago today, my husband of 30 years blindsided me and left forcing me to reinvent myself. That largely involved picking up my camera and learning how to use it. If you are in this situation, find your passion and explore it. The sadness will pass. Things get better.

Walking home from the bus, I found this rainbow lorikeet. I thought it was dead. Then I noticed that it was breathing. So I picked it up and held it for a while. Took maybe 10 minutes or so - but it gradually came back to life and flew off. Little miracles.

More @Qantas nonsense. They have offered me ("as a gesture of goodwill") just $120 compensation. I sent in receipts totalling ~$300. I've told them that their offer is not acceptable. Qantas really is the gift that keeps on giving. #qantasfail
