I’m fascinated by the “building in public” phenomenon. Watching full stack independent devs like

Why doesn’t China allow US businesses to operate in China? Why is this relationship one way? We allow them to go public on the US markets and operate here in the US… But as a US biz if we try to expand into China we get censored and shut down fast.

why don’t we agree upon an industry wide robots.txt convention to disallow AI training using a domain and a wildcard - wouldn’t that be the respectable thing to do?

It used to be that when I wanted to meet somebody new I would look for a warm intro. Lately I just find their contact info and email them directly. Works better.
Silicon Valley, make way for Silicon U.S.A. The pandemic is pushing tech talent away from hubs like the Bay Area and toward “rising-star” cities like Miami/Atlanta/etc-
All 3 had exactly the same message and pushed back on the questions the same way. They must have aligned on comms beforehand? Or did they just parrot the previous one and it turned into groupthink? Insanity - they all must resign.

Current environment reminds me one again that bootstrapping creates the strongest businesses. Slow steady build. Learn from every single penny spent. Burn should be minimal. Every spend decision should be painful.

We took Shutterstock public almost 10 years ago. Different world now. More money chasing deals, more structures (spacs, direct listing, etc).. Today I would do a direct listing instead of traditional IPO.
Trump issues warning to pro-Hamas students:

utter idiots.
Progressives are mad that Sen. Manchin killed the climate provisions in Biden's budget, but they shouldn't be. The provisions would have increased electricity prices, blackouts, and emissions. Congress should pass nuclear-focused legislation instead.
I'm obsessed with 1-person companies and have spent over 50 hours researching them.

The fed may get the recession they have been trying to create - and at same time they may also destroy a large part of the engine that drives this country. We need to bail out SVB in a dilutive way that zeros out shareholders but instills confidence in our banking system.

you may want to read this .. you aren’t helping your students with the example you set with your letter supporting Hamas’ attacks as ‘just another salvo’…
