I think documenting every part of your children's lives is prolly one of the best things you can do for them.
One thing many people in the abroad seem to have is a chronicle of their lives from childhood.
Many people in tech without degrees had to work as freelancers for so long because it wasn't exactly easy to get jobs with tech companies.
Grateful for all these startups in naij taking chances on people tbh and to Andela for making it popular.
Start a company, they said. It'll be fun, they said.
Now my car has turned to mobile filling station to supply the team 😭😂.
Shout out to Tega even helping me find fuel below 650 in this economy.
Two people supposed to be on this list were removed and that doesn't sit well with me.
Oluwafemi Adeniji who built the mobile app and Michael "Trojan" Okoh who was the sole backend engineer and CTO.
Ekene is one of the best JavaScript devs I've met with many published packages and libraries and he still managed to graduate as the best student in his department (non tech)
Congrats on this and many more to come
You inspire me man

one white guy randomly stopped me to lecture me about world poverty and was hassling me to donate.

A THREAD!!
Nigerian Tech Companies and their Hiring processes.
So I've had people tell me stuff (I also have first hand experience) about Nigerian Tech companies and their hiring process.
“I dislike unpredictability in my life. I don't follow a routine, but I like being in control, having a general plan for where I'm heading in the near future. Uncertainty drives me to anxiety.”
Was a really tough year for a lot of us. I’m glad it’s over(almost) already. I hope coming years are kinder to us.
Merry Christmas to y’all. I wish you a happy day.
Starting out as a software developer on Monday at work and I'm nervous and scaref.
Advice anyone ? Or perhaps your experiences when you first got a job ?
A SWE built the backend infrastructure for a major fintech company in 9ja.
He tweaked the backend code to leak funds. For every transaction that happened he took 0.2% this happened for a span of 10years.
Myfriend was asked to rebuild the app & that’s how he discovered the theft
There really is no way a company will relocate you for a job role that you do not have any experience in, forget whatever lamba you might have heard at your prayer meetings or during testimony.
just randomly remembered I went to Paris to see Wizkid last year, decided to go eat naij food just before the concert starts and by the time I finished and I got to the venue, the concert had ended.
I went all the way to Framce just to eat iyan lmao 😂
On this day 1 year ago, innocent civilians were killed by the Nigerian Government just because they dared to speak up against tyranny.
We will never forget.

Wanted to post pictures of Kofo now and remembered those (mostly horrible) days in Unilag.
We both dropped out of Unilag without any assurance things were going to work out well for us.
Grateful to have come this far alongside you.
Love you hermano

Pro-tip: if you say you have been working "remote" for years and plan on doing so because it's "your thing", your home set-up better be stellar....good lighting, good sound, good camera, good internet.....anything else and I call BS when interviewing.
One of the hardest part about being laid off is that more often than not people’s visa/residency status is tied to their jobs.
People leave their comfort zone to another country and suddenly their lives are put in a limbo.
Want to build search for your React application but don't know how to get started ?
I wrote an article explaining how to build an instant search system and the underlying principles behind it.
Read and help share, thx :)

2 sad things about being in tech are you cannot drag tech companies too much because you know things aren't exactly how they seem and you almost always have one mutual working there 😂
Before I used to try to impress people by my knowledge of code and be in conversations about it.
These days I hardly have anything to say and do not look forward to being in conversations about it, Just gimme money plis.
Someone works full-time for you in the capacity of an intern for almost a year built majority of all your web products as an intern then asks for a raise and you tell him he needs to get more training that you can't offer him a full-time role
Fuck you and your company.
It's really amusing when people think you've got it all figured out, envy your life , meet you for advice and all and yet each time you lay on your bed you're questioning your choices and fighting your demons all by yourself
Y'all should reach out to your friends that work at Andela to be sure none of them were affected or if they were, help find solutions (jobs, gigs and all)
