I was originally going to refrain from posting my works on bo noise, but seems pointless now that a lot of people started following me so here's a bunch!
I recreated a cel I made for my mom's birthday a few months back, this was a test to see how it would look with brush inking on the black lines (I tried to imitate a brushed look with a dip pen before this) and while it's a little rusty, I think it came out nicely!
People with radicalist opinions on cartoons being aggressive about individuality and how modern cartoons look… while constantly copying spumco(r&s) is ironic to me, like okay, If all you draw is a copy of whatever JK did, you’re not any different than those who you criticize
cel inks over huck, tried using a

brush again coz my
#4
was competely busted, I think the lines are more precise with it because it forces me to be more careful, I have more control with the line weight as well
(ORIGINAL DRAWING BY JIM TYER, INKED AND PAINTED BY ME) the paint kinda bled into some other colors on durma(paint might've been too wet?), I'll do a proper picture once I paint a BG for it
kelly armstrong was the animator that did the most liveliest and interesting stuff at carbunkle, I loved seeing her strokes in season 2, so much force and personality
Kelly Armstrong is one of the greatest and most underrated animators around today. Her work on REN & STIMPY is so deliciously unhinged. Check out an article I wrote spotlighting some of her scenes here:
