2. As I’ve wrestled through all of this for the past 13 years, I’ve become confident of this: God is good and Jesus is true, no matter how badly ambitious people corrupt that reality and use it for gain. Don’t give up hope. His kindness is exposing our corruption.

I‘be had many disagreements with Mike/Ihop’s teaching for +/-10 years. A lot of it was openhanded stuff, some of it was more concerning. But over the last several months, I’ve become certain that he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing and a deceiver.

I had the luxury of leaving IHOP for the right reasons at the right time over 13 years ago. There are many who today find themselves in an involuntary state of chaos that they don’t deserve and didn’t choose. I get it. This is beyond hard.

I understand the critique, & I have no problem being criticized. But to me, it’s a bit unfair to assume I was doing nothing/was silent just because I wasn’t engaged on X. It’s illogical to judge the size of an iceberg based on surface visibility. It is what it is at this point.

And I don’t feel the need to explain myself, but I think it’s fair to provide a little context: I work full-time, we don’t solicit donations or volunteers, and we have a very small and simple church. There is no motive other than to faithfully preach the gospel and serve people.

I definitely understand. I think isolation is an enemy in the long run, but I absolutely understand what exposed nerve endings feel like. This is a remarkably complex and painful thing to navigate. Not everyone will respond the same way. It requires patience and wisdom.

Prophecy is true or false. Mike created a system where it was OK to be wrong. In the Old Testament, you were stoned for being wrong. I’m not saying there’s not grace when we miss the mark, but there is no fear of the Lord when you look at the track record.

I was born & raised in charismatic prophetic culture. I’m not a secessionist. I believe God still speaks with all my heart. And I think lord of people like me were preyed upon by Mike Bickle. He knew their desire would outweigh their discernment if he promised the right things.
