These moves by tech giants like @Meta @amazon and @google parent Alphabet are depressing & scary. The societal implications of #socialmedia and #GenerativeAI colliding are profound. This, to please #wallstreet, feels so irresponsible by those most powerful. Gross.

@davemorgannyc @GroupMWorldwide @tkawaja @4As @Beet_TV I’ve referred to them as chain link fences which doesn’t sound very nice but gets to the point. Controlled interactions with pretty serious constraints. And the concept of a brand building its own bespoke ecosystem as a gated community which sounds kinda douchey but is accurate.
