Interesting thread. We were in Argentina and Uruguay in April, and what was interesting was that when changing money the rate for GBP was nowhere to be seen. US dollars and Euros were the preferred currencies (as was the Brazilian currency but for different reasons).
I have devised a new method for dealing with junk callers. I politely ask them for the second and the fourth number of their PIN so that I can verify their identity.
