In the little more than two years since Arkansas’s near-total ban on abortion access took effect, UAMS has seen OB-GYN residency applications drop by almost a third—from 390 for the 2022-23 academic year to 263 for the 2024-25 academic year.

My 4th baby was an emergency c section. I’ve never felt physical pain like that. I’m grateful for it, but it was violent and traumatic. (My 3d baby didn’t come home; he was stillborn at term. She apparently would concede his “unsuccessful” birth was traumatic. Thanks, I guess?).
If you brought your baby and yourself home from the hospital you had a successful birth, not trauma.
