I’m saddened but shouldn’t be as shocked as I was when a patient told me he was coming to me because his prior urologist attributed his elevated PSA to being homosexual and “the things you gays do with each other. I didn’t hold back. That urologist is a bigoted asshole. 😡😡😡😡

I’ll repeat it. Again. The training I experienced didn’t make me a better doctor. It made me a more damaged person. Less empathetic, less altruistic and less wholesome. Those who cling to that system with “rose tinted glasses” are promoting Stockholm syndrome and PTSD….

I love my patients and am still passionate about caring for them. I also realize how our medical system, training, insurance, EMR, etc has broken a part of me that probably can’t be fixed. Hoping this little princess and her emotional support will help. I love her already. ♥️

If you’re ever prescribed estrogen cream for bladder disease, apply it on the prescriber's face instead!
