Trainees! #MedStudents, #Residents, #Fellows - let's talk about the #neuromodulation kit and its contents. This is the stuff no one will show you, but on your first case you will be expected to have a general understanding. Let's get started (follow along):

@KeithSchmidt_ @doctdeer It's been brought up by a number of patients in my clinic as well. It's only FDA approved for acute post-op pain currently, and the studies were not overly impressive. Phase 2 trial had equivalent pain decrease to placebo. Phase 3 was slightly better.

@MountainRoche Can’t take credit. They’re central ideas in “Inner Excellence” by Jim Murphy. Thought you’d like them. Keep living them!

Ignoring the “experts”. Training in super shoes more often. So far so good. Legs definitely feel better between runs and more recovered for each run.

A few things I’ve figured out through trial and error regarding marathon fueling: 1. A gel every 4 miles (~29 mins) is perfect for me. 2. BPN Go Gels (esp mango) are my favorite. 3. Caffeine makes me pee. I’m going to save caffeine for later in race. 4. Train your gut.

@schulte_ss @hoka @adidasrunning If it goes to plan, I’ll be maxing out at 22 miles. I think I’ll have 4-5 runs at or above 20 miles though.

15 mile treadmill long run today. 10 miles in the @adidasrunning Adios Pro 4 and 5 miles in the AF3. Definitely liking the AP4, but had some lateral heel rubbing so swapped them out midrun. Marathon Block, Week 1 Recap Run 53.25 miles Indoor cycle 2.5 hours 2 strength sessions

Real talk - who is doing their long run outside with this forecast? Single digit wind chill after 7AM. Winds 15mph with gusts to 25mph. Getting colder throughout day. I’m looking at 15 miles on the treadmill. 🫠
