@ChShersh I've worked mostly on enterprise CRUD. The big performance issues I've seen are not an L1 cache miss, but more like 1000x too many DB queries, which nobody noticed because the code is unreadable. The cache miss seems like a very cheap price for clean code. YMMV

@paulg To be fair, that guy was apparently encouraged to leave. And it's less a problem for me now. Likely my communication skills improved.

@MashaZheglova @DanielW_Kiwi I don't think so in my case. At least not yet. Type 2 diabetes does run in my family though.

@DanielW_Kiwi @MashaZheglova That sounds familiar. For some reason, I usually don't notice when I'm thirsty. I only realized this when I saw my wife drinks so much water.

@ParikPatelCFA Crypto bros: "Let's do this. I'll tell you how much I'm worth, and you tell me how much you're worth."

@ThinkAppraiser 4% savings account. Because if you only have 10k saved, it should be liquid and stable. But also 4% is pretty good vs earnings yield / rental yield.

@AaronErickson I could see both scenarios playing out. I do many tasks that could be handled well by such ephemeral software and wouldn't economically support traditional software creation. I also work in enterprise software where battle tested software is usually the way to go.
