@fated4real @aestheticist_ @coryfromphilly @FeralPHunter ... You seriously believe there is anyone in the US military who didn't say a mean thing about Arabs and the middle east 2000-2010? Did you have zero contact with any military men then? The only difference is you said this at the bar, rather than twitter back then.

@Jack_Raines Are we really supposed to pretend men haven't been calling men 10+ years younger than them boy and kid since forever? There's almost certainly a senior lawyer who's excused a young lawyer with identical language.

@spicy_bagz @FeralPHunter The standard solutions are a) don't ask, don't tell, "don't talk about politics at work" or B) people can be open but good spirited about it. Scots and English will rib each other, but generally cooperate. Or you can ban diversity and implement totalitarianism. Your solution.

@fated4real @aestheticist_ @coryfromphilly @FeralPHunter If you got rid of anyone who has ever expressed wonton bias, who exactly would you have left? How much damage would you actually be preventing? Would the GWT have gone better if you fired everyone who ever privately had a mean thing to say about the middle east and Arabs?

@moriya2k2 @MarnerJoshua @KelseyTuoc Why not? How many government employees would we have left in 2002 if in 2001 we fired everyone who ever said anything bad about Arabs? Is glassing the middle east less hateful speech than what this guy said? Has he actually shanked an Indian? What are you actually afraid of?

@peterrhague Very religious sheltered kids can have the same experience in college, where they find communists aren't obvious daemons and have actual arguments, and are unprepared for that. And swing all the way from hardcore religious to hardcore atheist, rather than just moderating.

@esrtweet Would this apply for why the meme went for regarding Hattians was eating pets, not rapes or violent assaults, which would certainly be more serious and might have better paper trails?

@peterrhague I mean, why else would they be paying foreigners to do it? If this is all true, of course.

@LanceVader @GreeneMan6 I live in Appalachia because I don't want to live under the economic rules of Cali or New York. I generally don't want to be playing the same games as them. We also do this in many other areas. Boys/girls sports, big/small companies, exc. Different should be treated differently.

@MarvinMediocre @KorribanSociety @PowderMonkey__ @JoelWBerry @PhilosophyDad1 That sounds like god mandated segregation. Why would god set up certain people to certain places and conditions? Could the people be different as well as the places they are put? If god made man and woman different, father and son different, why not the peoples too?

@oldharmonica @JoelWBerry As someone who lives in Appalachia, I know we would not equalize with New Yorkers. Because were not willing to live like New Yorkers and do what they're willing to do for their wealth. If I wanted to live like a New Yorker I wouldn't have stayed in Appalachia!

@Zebbart @GnothiSauton88 @JoelWBerry yeah, that's the one that immediately jumped out to me. It seems to amount to "I want to fully live in the world of theory, not reality, but I also don't want to even consider the merits of the theory either". That seems to be what he's saying.

@AcademicAgent_X There's boomer truth, not-boomer truth, and anti-boomer truth. Which is still Boomerism, like Satanism is still Christ. I can't tell if this is mere not boomer truth, where there's just a more detached view like of a Caesar or Khan, or Satanic boomerism. Which is still boomerism.

@LukeBennerE @TheBlackHorse65 The big question here is "what alternatives do each have?" Can Alberta sell its oil to anyone else profitably? Can the US buy oil elsewhere? if the US can meet its needs at $50 without Canada, Canada can't sell above that, even if they have to eat a 10% tax to the Fed.

@unusual_whales What? Is the Canadian government going to pay the US tariffs to maintain market share with imposed higher costs? That isn't going to make Trump back down if he can make taxes other pay for? Is the idea to fund something like Canadian strike, to do no imports until agreement?
