I cannot emphasize enough the importance of historical photography to the dissident movement. The world before the GAE must be remembered. Every day you must remind yourself how shabby and pathetic the current vision of the future is. Berlin Cathedral, c. 1900.
Remember, Lord, what the Edomites did on the day Jerusalem fell. “Tear it down,” they cried, “tear it down to its foundations!”

You can't watch Europe having been turned into a kind of museum and not notice this. E.g. Notre Dame is either a church or a museum, it cannot be both.
The problem with tourism is that it takes your home, with its history and symbols and sees them not as a living thing to be cultivated, nurtured and passed on, but a product to be abstracted, developed, commodified and sold. You are turning your culture into dollars. Literally selling your soul.

@Aelthemplaer Believe it or not, there is no editorial attached to this comment. It simply notes the current state of play.

One of the greatest challenges of being an auto-didactic is the "reality check". When I learned to program, that reality check was obvious. When I built my buisness, I had customers who worked with me and were invaluable in my education in the financial industry.
This is correct and the reason is at least twofold: —Academia mostly produces full 😑 —Most autodidacts seek to *only* confirm their premises while attacking those whose knowledge questions their premises. That’s why my friends and I teach the primary texts on their own terms.

This is absolutely key;
Dangerous positioning for the European right. In Canada, the liberal establishment just had a field day tarring Trump-friendly right wingers as potential fifth-columnists. Effective RW movements need to be seen as patriotic first and foremost, not as cat's paws for US power.

@RyanLeoHen @ConCaracal Migrating as a community of settlers to found your own community is a lot different than being scattered to the four winds as refugees, or becoming part of a massive melting pot like the US. The option to "trek", like your forefathers, is not currently available.

The "China decoupling" still has a long way to run. IMHO, this is the most significant invesent trend in the world.
The U.S. imports virtually all its enriched uranium, including from Russia, and China controls around 90% of global rare earth metals. When we rely on rival nations for the minerals that power our military, we're directly handing them the off-switch to our national defense. Learn more at

@AcademicAgent_X @PantheistRevolt Hosting a panel show during the Starmer-Reich, and with the current candidates for panelists, would be a totally insane thing to do; but we will live to see better days.

@AcademicAgent_X Aparently the "racist" comments were about Diane Abbot. I mean, "let he who is without sin cast the first stone....."
🇬🇧 Health minister Andrew Gwynne SACKED over comments on WhatsApp group. Comments included: Sexism (towards Rayner) Racism (towards Diane Abbott), Antisemitism Hoping a pensioner MP “dies before the next election”.

This is a really great essey. During COVID, I looked long and hard at leaving Canada, the land of my fathers for many generations; but @ConCaracal is right, there is 'trecking and resettling as a community', there is 'digging trenches', and there is 'giving up'. There is no #4.

@C74210148 @AKorybko @Marek1717586 That's why Germans in the area were called "Bergers"; I'm not sure how old this arrangement was, but it was the arrangement I the 19th century.
