Tak pon bawa mak ayah yang tua tua datang hospital a few days before perayaan… lepas tu kata sakit macam macam and minta admit a few days! Bila check and tengok darah normal. Taktik baru adalah dengan tak bagi ubat untuk beberapa hari supaya hospital admit patient tu.

As gov doctor, for consultation, examination and treatment, better be done at government. For diagnostic imaging, specialised blood test (not the normal blood taking), I will suggest private. This is to cut the waiting time and delay in management.

They literally pay us peanuts. Well, two small bags of Tong Garden peanuts (each RM4.50) per hour. Yes, the MO on call rates is RM9/hour. Couldn’t even afford KFC snack plate let alone dinner plate for an hour of work.

Let me tell you, the buku pink or maternity book by gov is more comprehensive than the private. Many private centre saves patient’s data in their system and not in the pink book. Sometimes it’s just a piece of card of check up dates on it.

Baca dan hadamkan info dalam tu ok, para suami tolong share and educate yourself and your wife supaya tidak ada miscommunication with pakar perubatan.

Patient struggling to find transport to the hospital just to go to their appointment. They rent a van with others and wait until everyone’s done before going back home. They wait for hours. Some only have enough for the trip.

Rarely I come across those who are not compliant without a good reason.
I once come across three siblings, all girls. The eldest is into her early teenage years, has ESRF. Always didn’t comply with restriction of fluid. It’s a police case…
"Patient non-compliant, tak ikut rawatan."

The words we use as HCWs shape how we deliver care. If we think we know better, pesakit semua ignorant/tipu MC/tak bertanggungjawab, then it blinds us from finding out how we can best support them.

Cholera and hepatitis A (both transmitted by fecal matter, possibly contaminating the flood water). Also there’s leptospirosis. Don’t take risk. This is dangerous. I take it the nearby hospital also affected by the floods, which means they’ll have trouble managing this cases.

Since this post some kind of traction, as a doctor, I would like to highlight that since they’re not Malaysian, most aren’t vaccinated. The vaccine against polio, MMR, etc. They didn’t get those. They have to pay for each shot.
