We did have an extra heat wave in the summer. And, it has happened before.

Greece is a pretty small country, so yeah.... I'm familiar with most of it, most of the time. I also live here most of the time. I've helped with olive harvesting for years, as well (and grapes, and almonds, and other things).

I'm in Greece. Almost every rooftop has a solar panel...to heat water.
They don't work when it is cloudy. Not hot showers on cloudy days... the winter months are horrible.

I am presently in Greece but in a rural area. I pay equiv of 700CAD for rent for 2bedrm house with an amazing view. People around seem very happy. Mandates are completely gone... people can test positive and show up for work maskless. No harassment by police. Even doing 160kmh!

Always tell someone where you are going and your route.
Learn to use compass and map.
Learn basic navigation skills. And take paper map and good compass with you. Know some basic first aid. Have first aid kit with you.

Year would have been about 1975ish. Either Grade 4 or 5. Then, we had a field trip to Moss Park Armories for some target shooting.

He is 13 yrs old. He's been with me 24/7.

I truly believe they killed my father with all this "fat free" nonsense. His father, grandfather, et al all ate fat... animal fats, butter...eggs, and were healthy and lived into 80's and 90's. But they also exercised a lot, walked lots, and lots of oatmeal! That was breakfast.

I'm stuck alone for a few days in this Greek speaking village while waiting for the car to be fixed. I am touched by so many of the villagers who have shown concern if I'm okay, am I eating, do I have enough food, etc.... I of course, am fine but their concern is so very nice.

The article is wrong. Between Oct 2022 and May 2023, precipitation in Greece where my and other olive groves are located, was pretty much normal. NO drought.
It Hardly EVER rains from May to October in ANY year.
The article is just plain garbage wrong. I'm here. I know.
