We are officially a ‘GOOD’ school!

Enjoying watching Maddie Moate and Greg Foot every day on YouTube and this week is dinosaur week! Made a 3D dinosaur and some roarsome dinosaur cookies so far. Has been using her work books, reading, doing times tables online and spending a lot of time in the garden ...
Lessons started at 7.30 am this morning. Drawing round 2D shapes and making them into things found around the house and writing a description of a setting using the senses ...
Honilands trip to Madrid day 1. Hugs and cuddles, a few firsts for some and lots of excitement. Can’t wait to start the rest of the week. Even got recognised by a Rufino Blanco pupil, who passed by and said ‘See you tomorrow’

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning
We will remember them."

your fun poem "I was born in the Stone Age" was used for our guided reading extract this week. Your performance inspired us, so we had a go at performing it in a short amount of time as an extra challenge! Hope you like it!

We were very lucky to have received a donation of over 700 books from the Book Project. We set up our own ‘Honilands’ Book Shop’ for all children to come and choose a book. A huge thank you to
@Lonbookproject
Book Project for their kind donation.
Our School Councillors, keen to promote healthy lifestyles, planned and performed an assembly to encourage our families to participate in Walk to School Week, this week.

For the first time in our school's history, our girl's football team took part in the borough's league. The venue was at Ark JK playing Eastfield and Brimsdown. The girl's were amazing playing as a team.
Eastfield 0 v Honilands 4.
Brimsdown 0 v Honilands 1.
Walking through the corridors at school and seeing classes full of children buzzing about being back at school has just been incredible! The children have really missed their friends and their teachers, and watching them play together again has been lovely!
Today, Year 6 were visited by Vera Schaufeld MBE who shared her experiences as a child who came to England on The Kindertransport in 1939 following the Nazi invasion of Czechoslovakia. Thank you
@HolocaustUK
for this valuable and important opportunity.
For Anti-Bullying week, each class took part in the Kindness Challenge. Children were given a secret pupil to be kind to for the whole week. At the end of the week, everyone voted for who they thought was their secret angel. Those receiving the most won the Kindness Award !
This week the children in Reception returned to their classrooms and outside area to find it had been invaded by aliens. They used tally marks to record how many aliens they could find and then wrote a letter to a friend to tell them about all the different aliens.
What a lovely day!
Lots of toast, cooked breakfast, cereal and juice was had by all this morning. A few sleepy heads but up and ready for the day anyway.
Here are some photos of our awesome Honilands PGL Group
Yeh, we have wifi😎
Second day in Madrid and what a busy day we’ve had...straight to our partner school Rufino Blanco, took part in lessons, watched a magic show, learnt how to play some new PE games, got on the train to Reina Sofia, where we saw the famous Guernica painting.
Year 3's PE challenge this week was "how many jumping jacks can you do in 30 seconds?" They have been practising all week and Friday is competition day! Mrs Georgiou accidentally timed her class for a minute! 🙊

Today we said goodbye to Hazel 6 class. We really missed them last week! Today they had their leavers assembly, sports days and shirt signing. It was wonderful to see our pupils and say goodbye and good luck! 💕🎉 Take care guys x
In Reception we have been reading Little Red Riding Hood. The children were asked to create a wanted poster for the Big Bad Wolf, as he had eaten some food out of Little Red Riding Hood’s basket. Look at these fantastic posters the children have made at home and School.
Look at these brilliant story maps that some of our Reception children have made at home. Some parents have even recorded their children using them to retell the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Well done everyone!
