@HettrickMichael I donβt think a referendum would pass even in an aggressively green Carney scenario. The 2019 wexit peak was a hard sell to begin with & the massive influx of Ontarians and BCers to the province post-2021 cannot be dismissed. Annexation via backroom dealing is another question.

@GreenBeltTory After seeing the senate hearing about Greenland, yeah I donβt have a good feeling about this.

@NoahGairn If this and direct threats of annexation isnβt enough for policymakers to realize Canada must truly be able to stand alone on defence, idk what is This now makes Russia an even bigger threat to arctic sovereignty over the near-medium term Ottawa needs to wake tf up!

@JasonFriesenYXE @BradleySincla16 @PremierScottMoe Lmao 20 states suing Trump over birthright citizenship sound like great teamwork White House revoking Keystone XL permit was an excellent gambit and show of unity US DOJ suing Texas for patrolling their own border (something Alberta is allowed to do) Very unified nation sir

@ALOHAHINIHAO @twitscotty @Noahpinion Canadaβs smaller economy makes the distortion from regulatory misalignment worse than if we were a bigger economy like the US.

@BagelPolling Itβs a deranged and dumb part of Canadian political culture We think our elites should wear sketchers, stay at the super 8, and most of all not put a single dollar into 24 Sussex. I suspect itβs another American import that we took too far

Iβm not optimistic. USD as reserve currency is going to make it near impossible for a non-American western bloc to form in any meaningful way. The EU has to make the first move here, and I donβt think their elites have the risk tolerance.
It's hard to know if the United States will ever truly recover from the damage that Donald Trump and his collaborators are wreaking both inside the US and to its international partnerships. It's quite something to see a great power in such a self-destructive mood.

@ribeiro__2022 @Noahpinion Itβs not real, but itβs directionally true. There are no direct tariffs between provinces, just different regulations for things like trucking & licensing for nurses, and a few very specific barriers on things like alcohol.

@twitscotty @Noahpinion βInternal free tradeβ is just a marketing ploy to make the issue comprehensible to voters. Americans really think we have interprovincial tariffs lol

@Noahpinion Begging Americans to realize internal tariffs are not a thing in Canada. There are no direct tariffs between provinces, just different regulations for things like trucking & licensing for nurses, and a few very specific barriers on things like alcohol.
