At 26, 🇳🇬 Nigerian-born Wendy A. Okolo became the first Black woman to obtain a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2015. The Nigerian-born scientist is currently an aerospace research engineer in the Intelligent Systems Division at NASA.

On November 26th, 1962, African American inventor, Paul E. Williams patented a helicopter, Lockheed Model 186 (XH-51). It was a compound experimental helocopter and only 3 units were built. The UH-60 Black Hawk was fielded by the Army in 1979.

Meet Roy Allela, a Kenyan 🇰🇪 man who invented smart glõves that can convert siģn language movements into audio speech. He made it for his six year old niece who was bõrn deèaf. That’s how the idea of smart gloves came to fruition.
