That is actually a fantastic advice. The pressure is so much on people that they think they are failures at 20. They expect you to be a millionaire at 20, have your life figured out and all. 20s is a time for positioning and gradual building.
On todays episode of my letter
Dear medical student,
- Go for outreaches (Oyinbo call am volunteering)
Don’t wait for NYSC before you give back to your community
- Take pictures of your participation at the outreach and post it on your LinkedIn page .
Best Wishes 😉

We have witnessed terrible images come out of Israel and Palestine that deserve no excuse. Individuals worldwide, both pro-Palestine and pro-Israel, gathered to not only spread disinformation but drown out the voices of those trapped in Gaza or victimized by Hamas.

I had five internationally published, peer reviewed scientific articles by the time I finished medical school.
I could only manage to be second best in my beloved specialty. So, I understand the pull between academia and research.
So, I have decided we will celebrate research
I saw somewhere that during pregnancy, the wife takes genes from the baby's dna (which includes the husband's)
so, if a woman who is fine normally is ugly during pregnancy, it's the husband's fault

Multiple batches of inducted Doctors have been home for varying length of time, even up to SIX MONTHS.
Thank you

NIGERIA DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH DOCTORS!
NIGERIA DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH DOCTORS!
NIGERIA DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH DOCTORS!
It’s always sad when people say this. Nigeria has a serious shortage of medical doctors with an average of 1:10,000 doctor-patient ratio. WHO recommends 1:600.

There is currently a global epidemiological shift. More people in low-resource settings like Sub-Saharan Africa die from surgically-treatable conditions than malaria, HIV & TB combined. There is a need for focus to shift towards surgical care and surgical/neurological emergencies
I think it's time, Neurological emergencies, especially stroke, get more attention in Nigeria and Africa. Because it's of public health importance more like Malaria too. Is there a stroke society in Africa?

Excited to have participated in this boot camp as a facilitator. It was great seeing the enthusiasm of undergraduate students in research. Thanks
@kehinde_alare
for the opportunity.
Today alongside other facilitators, we kick-started a 4-weeks intensive Research Bootcamp for undergraduate in a bid to encourage research participation among undergraduates and to train Nigerian undergraduates to be in the level with their contemporaries.

Privileged people will sit on their couches giving hot cake about how she couldn’t afford a “small” fridge. Step off your high horse and you’d see that the street is strict.
That lady, a married mother of 2 said that's the first time she's seeing 500k.
It's a reminder that most of our conversations are rooted in poverty.
I know you're all rich and privileged but I need you people to be a little more graceful and thoughtful with your takes.
@Soulmedika
You cannot cheat your way through medical school. Shey na every 8 weeks you go dey carry “chukuli” and “blocking” 😂. People will say anything to bring down Nigerian Doctors.
