Big changes: Mel's base sprint is faster and Mel can turn more easily. You can now dash out of other animations more easily and get a "quicker" dash via Arcana.
All resource nodes are collectable throughout runs, the Tools just make that specific node more likely to appear.

Dear roguelike devs,
Please, please, please, keep individual runs shorter, especially for action roguelikes. I see way too many that are 1+ hour long even at a quick pace. You can always have alternate zones instead of just tacking more on, we'll still love the variety.

So Chronos likes to tee up the instakill move while you're in the middle of losing a Death Defiance, often not leaving you enough time to get to the safe spot.
We know he's immune to slow effects but this feels a bit harsh, not even sure it's totally intended.

Angel's 64 heat run has just been officially verified by the moderators of the speedrun community!
It's healthy and normal to have skepticism for major achievements but currently there is no evidence of cheating whatsoever. The run is done.

Thoughts on speedrunning Hades 2:
Very similar to the first game, very fun. Yes you still need lots of luck and good RNG but it is a roguelike after all. At least there's no sack RNG any more!

Completely reasonable! We are being bombarded with great roguelikes this year: Balatro, Hades 2, Windblown, Rogue PoP and more.
Many roguelikes are also designed to be played for a LOOONG time so playing many different ones can be challenging when most have an innate grind.
hades 2 is as great as you’d expect but it also confirms to me that im pretty burnt out on the rogue formula at the moment. story, systems, all fantastic. im just not in the mood for randomized runs for now. i’m still pushing for the story tho. intrigued in what’s happened

I don't believe I'm entitled to anything for this but to say content creators provide no value to devs is just wrong.

Hades 2 combat breakdown:
Attack, Special, Cast and Dash are back. A, S and C have Omega variants by holding down the button. These moves cost Magick which has its own bar next to your health.
Only one dash (so far) but holding down the button allows you to move faster after.

Nine Sols is incredible, easily one of the best metroidvanias I've played in years. It takes plenty of inspiration from Hollow Knight but has some distinct mechanics that set it apart. Highly, HIGHLY recommend.

I've decided to put down Wukong without finishing it after about 30 hours. It's a pretty game but the combat is flawed to say the least. Every "challenge" the game throws your way is designed to be more annoying than actually difficult.

Should Balatro simply preview what score you'll get for each hand, all calculations provided?
It's a really interesting design problem where giving us all of the info probably sucks some of the fun out of it. But to min/max, better get the calculator out.
Loved the video on this - a problem that is frustrating as the creator of Balatro but is also very interesting as a game designer and exposes the potential knock-on effects of a seemingly simple or obvious design change
