I recommend your essay to people I know that support capital punishment. It’s harder to convince people at scale — most of the US agreed with capital punishment at one point. I wonder why Texas is one of the last states to change

To be fair, the accounting for general use is a nightmare for the average person. Having just gone to El Salvador and tried it out, I think cap gains does make things harder. Software needs to get easier to use too, you’re right.

It's arrogance believing truth has to be hidden from common people. Short term gain/long term loss. In US history, when leaders did this (ex. Gulf of Tonkin),it eroded trust in our institutions. With AI it will have the same effect. Why do they think it will be any different now?

No coincidence it’s mostly the cloud providers.
AI is another layer of commodity compute on top of aws/azure etc.
Like in cloud, AWS was ahead for a long time, but theyre basically all the same now.
difficult for any of these companies to have pricing power long term.

Paul, my family in England lives on land on the hampshire coast. Most of the coast has strict rules to preserve the look of traditional countryside. New houses are rarely built. Are these kind of rules keeping the cost of housing high and out of reach for the average Englishman?

Does anyone ever compare this stuff to debit? Credit is 3% because they deliver "credit," Debit isnt expensive right now.
Unless these payment rails give credit to consumer, it's a bad comparison.

yeah. People use credit cards instead of debit cards for a reason. Chatter about payments in crypto literally never talks about this. Fraud protection is great! and people want it! It's great to know that you never pay for something you didnt want to. Custody is nice.
