I should probably explain that this is a PhD program, where it’s imperative that we as graduate students also develop the ability to do our own searches, and not depend on the professor. Quality scholarship depends on the ability to locate things without having your hand held.

I can’t think of another profession that infantilizes and patronizes its most important workers. Lemme spell it out: in capitalism, it turns out that money is helpful. Don’t exploit teachers’ love of their work. Compensation is the BOTTOM rung of the ladder to respect.
Teaching isn’t a job you hold. It’s an extension of your life’s purpose.

Our schools are under attack. Acts of terrorism are happening daily. Racist bad actors who want to see our schools crumble have made this possible.
Just before noon today, the DPS Dept. of Climate and Safety, DPD, and 4 of our campuses Northfield, East, South, and DC-21) received the exact same message with threats of violence. Law enforcement is investigating but believe that these are false reports.
