@coastal8049 Better PN? Less jitter? Something else? Honestly, the newer 1420 performs really, really, well. However, take a look at some of the Abracon/NEL rack mount units for PN at 10MHz of -170dBc@10KHz, probably one of these inside O-CS41FS19IX-P-E-05-R-10.000MHZ

I think 'scope probe clips/hooks hide in the same parallel universe as 10mm sockets! How can I have 9 probes and 3 clips, one of which doesn't fit any of them......

@AKAhamradio Things move on. That kind of information is readily available but how many need it nowadays? Andy, G4JNT, writes Design Notes, which usually has accessible technical information for today's world. But, rightly, it isn't presented like a research paper.

@kuwahara82 WR4.3 should be OK. Although lower in frequency, I've used WR28 horns at 47GHz I'd guess surface finish is going to be most important when 3D printing. What gain?

@BoscoMac Oh the times I've carried one of those through airports to a customer site to trace async BSC 3780 issues! Too far back to remember which s/w version.

@g4cch @M1EGI OK. I probably can't go any further until I'm back in the UK with a test rig..I'm in EA8 for Xmas, so only have the code. Might be worth reaching out to Colin, G4EML.

@g4cch @M1EGI I'll check but I think D only does the currently selected channel.

@g4cch @M1EGI OK. I'd doubt it's that, the other way round maybe. Given the 'C' command works and shows the right values, then it can really only be the chip programming, hence 'D' to set to the default set. The code is identical per ch like ..chandata[channel]..

@g4cch @M1EGI Did you set defaults first? Just thinking there's a rogue register setting.

@g4cch @M1EGI Really odd. There's nothing specific in the code and it seems to get the pll calcs correct. One suggestion would be to select 8, then defaults and put the frequency in again and then save to eeprom.

@g4cch @M1EGI So, I had time on the plane to take a look. Nothing stands out. So, when you change channels it says '0-9'? Or are you using an external switch? When you select ch8, then do a 'C' does it show the correct values?
