@SemperVeritasX Taken slightly out of context, he mentions emergency powers in the context of expediting energy infrastructure and trade corridors to expedite this as if tariffs are imposed we'll need to act fast. I don't disagree with this, full video here.

@AaronGunn You should ask him how he feels about the last govt that featured Poilievre cutting military funding to the lowest level in all of Canadian history then de-funding veterans. That's the record you're running on...they gave the same platitudes as you during campaigns though,

Poilievre's brief tenure as housing minister saw house prices increase at more than twice the rate of Trudeau. Federal Housing Records: Harper Feb '06-Nov '15 House prices up from $265k->$446k Total Increase: 168% Annualized increase: 6.9% Trudeau Nov' 15-Dec '24 House Prices from $446k->$724k Total Increase: 162% Annual Increase: 6.8% Poilievre (housing minister Feb '15-Nov '15 House Prices from $411k->$446k Total Increase: 13% Annualized Increase: 16% #cdnpoli #cdnpolitics

@Citizen004 @ChantalHbert Really👇 Everyone? This guy was in Flaherty's office and express the same sentiments as Flaherty himself is on the record saying.
Oh please. I was there and Carney played a big role. Flaherty and Harper provided the political leadership that was key, but Carney was on deck with insight and smart monetary policy. Trying to erase that for partisan reasons is, well, beyond disgraceful, to match your hyperbole

@anna_tomala Flaherty and Harper themselves credit the contributions of Mark Carney. Mark Carney has spoken effusively of Jim Flaherty Have things become so moribundly partisan that we should dismiss the words of the late Mr Flaherty himself?

If those allegations are corroborated by the board I can't see how your position is untenable,. In your last scandal, where your office was imp[licted in paying an associate of yours 4x the usual price for low quality school masks (seems to be a theme) the "poor memories" of your staffers saved you. I can't see the former AHS board doing you the same service.

@wildrose76 @odnom_ab If the board was advising the CEO to go to the RCMP and refusing to fire the CEO there is very likely more than one honest person on it. Sounds like they got axed for doing the right thing.

@KnightLegg Yes, watching team Canada filing out of the White House on TV after a high level meeting is a sure sign their strategy is failing.

@Dlynn_E @IoannidisSteve @coeurdelalionne @AnaPoilievre How much mine has gone up, and it’s just a Ford truck (a top of the line one, but still just a Ford truck). I think the low Canadian $ is a factor there.

@prairiecentrist Seems like desperation to me, the better tactic would be to talk about Poilievre’s record instead of trying to denigrate Carney on a premise that is demonstrably false.

Mr. Carney isn't stealing credit from a dead man, both MrHarper and Mr Flaherty have been effusive in their praise of Mr. Carney...it's all on the record. Likewise Mr. Carney has never missed a chance to heap praise on Jim. If asked today I'm sure Carney would still laud Jim. I don't think he is a rabid enough a partisan not to. Perhaps in this instance take his lead. #cdnpoli

@MelissaMbarki My problem is I also remember the 10 years before that, maybe explains the rift in support from young to older with the latter preferring the Liberals.

That’s true, it probably explains the big rift in vote from young to older. For those of us who bought houses pre-2000 have some inflation neutralized as we’ve been on the ‘property elevator’ (house I paid $99,000 in 1998 is now $500,000….no longer live there but for perspective). If I am under 35 the housing market is more challenging and probably where a lot of the inflation is felt. I feel it elsewhere, would like to replace my car but since 2020 it’s gone from $89,000 to $132,000 MSRP so a ‘first world problem’ for sure.

Right but you can easily do the math. Inflation under Trudeau: 27 % Wage Growth: 35% Net growth 8% Inflation under Harper: 18% Wage Growth: 26% Net Growth 8% Statscan CPI report vs Wage report. Also if you take out Alberta (our Conservative govt legislated lower paycheques through new restrictions in overtime and holiday pay) Trudeau outperforms Harper in the rest of Canada.

@Dlynn_E @IoannidisSteve @coeurdelalionne @AnaPoilievre Wages vs inflation has gone up faster under Trudeau than Harper. Interest rates is the only valid point you made there.
